"Cops don't want to shoot people." Hmm. I question this because I see how black males are gunned down by cops almost daily, often for no legitimate reason. The latest being the black man in Sacramento CA shoot IN THE BACK 6 times in his OWN BACKYARD. Can you tell me at least one of those shooters didn't want to shoot him? Winslow has a terribly sympathetic and privileged view of the police.

Linda Harrison I see your point. But every thing has a cause and effect. For example, 40 percent of police officer that dies in the line of duty, are perpetrated by black males between the age of 17 to 59. This is an extraordinarily high number, given the fact that blacks represent less than 15 percent of the US population. Police officers are reminded of this ugly true fact and they have to wake up every day and ask themselves ‘what if today’s the day?’ Being a cop is not easy. People have to start seeing police officers as ordinary humans who have loved ones at home rather than government owned machine.
