There is a Russian video about it made by Sovenok where he explained Love's disappearance in simple words. If you aren't afraid of some Russian slang, you can try using autosubtitles, but in general, Donald was involved in some sort of a deal with Colombian Cartel, while Claude was pursuing all who support this Cartel. That meant that Claude will figure out Donald's deals with this gang. Nobody wants to mess with Claude, so he escaped.

what I always loved about Professional's content is during empty moments when he is just driving from point A to point B, he usually is explaining lore or mysteries surrounding the characters or missions unlike most who would be staying silent making half the content boring to watch. In GTA3, Claude had an alternate skin/cloth color that came with a moustache as well, which resembled Miguel. Considering the Yakuza blamed Miguel for killing Kenji, we can take to account that Claude must have changed his appearance to look like his former "friend" to get him framed for the murder. Imo, if GTA 3 had a total remake, similar to GTA 4's, not only the objectives would have been a bit more specific but it would give some sense how and where the Yakuza got the claim to pin Miguel as an assassin. Then again, the DE is what we got, so... This will be possible after 2 decades or just never.

Yes, the same Dog Food company that Marty Chonks operates and uses as a front for his murders until some debts catch up with him. Donald Love basically echoed the words of Avery Carrington in the intro cutscene for Two Bit Hit in Vice City. Two Bit Hit and Waka-Gashira Wipeout are very similar, provoking a gang war while disguised as a rival gang member by whacking an important head of the gang. TBH, wasting the Haitian Lieutenant while Tommy is dressed as a Cuban member. WGW, wasting Kenji while inside the Cartel Cruiser. Only difference is that Tommy is eventually friendly with the Cubans, and Claude is hostile with the Colombian Cartel. Claude worked for both the Colombians and the Yakuza before GTA 3 until betrayed by Catalina, and from Staunton Island to the end while having his betrayal go undetected by Asuka. Tommy worked with the Haitians and the Cubans at the same time, but Poulet brainwashed him with potions in tea while Tommy works with Umberto who was like "You killed Teal? Big cojones, come work for me!". Poulet tells Tommy to stay away from Little Haiti after her missions, while Umberto commended Tommy for his work with the Cubans.

Coming back to this game years later, I wonder if the empty wooden box was meant as a nod to Hellraiser’s Lament Configuration and related horror mythos. It sets up Love as a depraved, wealthy fetishist, and the package as a small foreign artifact of great value, which may need some ancient knowledge to “unlock”… “In these days of moral hypocrisy certain valuable commodities can be hard to import.”

Watching this again, Catalina and the Cartel aren't sure what the object actually is (which excludes more obvious smuggled valuables), and the Old Oriental Gentleman is needed to authenticate and presumably activate it. It's also implied that Love vanishes into thin air after opening it, the typical fate of those who summon Pinhead by unlocking his puzzle box (which in that lore is actually sought out by characters who've gotten bored with all earthly depravities). Rockstar in 2009: "No one is quite sure what happened to Donald Love. He certainly crossed a few boundaries and was trying to find a way back to normality. Whether or not he managed this, and what happened to the elderly Asian gentleman are matters we cannot speculate on".

Just to say something about a mechanic in this game, you don't actually need to complete paramedic in order to have infinite sprint, one thing about the 3D GTAs except for San Andreas is that if you hold the sprint button you'll get tired, but if you keep taping it instead, you'll be able to sprint infinitly.

Claude would be very similar to the protagionist in Saints Row where he doesn't talk at all except for a couple of cutscenes in the first game. 15:36 - it is well known to all GTA players that Claude is a very mysterious and, above all, dangerous character, the type of man who should not be messed with or disrespected at the risk of having a very bad backlash (see Salvatore Leone or Kenji). People who proudly and confidently say that he has no personality - often the same people who never played the first GTA games or who discovered the saga with GTA 5 (lol) and who, therefore, allow themselves to say that the first GTA games are bad/suck because they’re “old” - show their ignorance and how much they never took the time to observe him, to look at him. Claude is a very mysterious, feared, dangerous hitman - I’ve said it before and will continue to say it for the rest of my life, the fact that he doesn’t talk adds an even darker side to his story, to him. He doesn’t show (or very little) his emotions, he has a personality (just look at the way he greets Kenji, by bowing, or the way he stands when he’s with Donald Love). And at 15:36, we see Claude’s face : people complain that he’s sad and no more the dangerous and serious hitman we knew in the original game, but I think they’re wrong - just look at him carefully, he’s not sad but even _more_ serious and dangerous than in the original game from 2001. He’s even _more_ dangerous. And that’s what I really, really like and admire about the Definitive Edition of GTA 3 : Claude is even more mysterious, serious _and_ dangerous than in the original game. 24:14 - what I really like about the Definitive Edition of GTA 3 is that Catalina, for some reason, looks like Angelina Jolie lmfao

When I escort the armored car, driven by the old guy, I always use the tank (I’m able to unlock and use it). Makes the mission a lot easier, but I have to ditch it near the end because it is slow going uphill and the cops always interfere to arrest me when I blow up the last two Cartel Cruisers. I just run behind the Securicar and shoot the cartel gang member on the corner who’s armed with the AK-47, watch the old guy drive into the garage, and done! As for distracting the authorities, I just zip around the airport runways and tarmacs.

This is my theory on what was in Donald Love's package and why he disappeared. So for anyone who watched the SA playthroughs or has ever played SA. You'd know that in a couple missions the Truth has you attack the US Military. In the mission where CJ raids the base the announcer in the base mentions aliens, and in the train mission CJ steals what appears to be alien goo. So aliens are confirmed to be real in the 3D Trilogy. Alien tech would make sense, considering how many stwrs you get in the original just for picking up the decoy packages. (The government wants that alien tech) In the definitive edition Claude even gets a 6 star wanted level in the other mission dealing owth the package (They really want that tech) How would Donald get alien tech you may ask? He's weird so he may know The Truth and he's rich so he probably just bribed someone at the army base to steal the tech for him. Donald also says something along the lines of "When you have a hot enough Commodity, the world will want to take it from you even if they have no idea of its true value." Love obviously wants to sell this item. So now that we know what was in the package, why does he disappear? I have a few theories on why he disappears. 1. The government catches him and dissapears him for taking their secret alien tech. 2. The alien tech teleports him to another planet or dimension. 3. Donald leaves and gets a new identity and uses his money to reverse engineer the alien tech into the commodity he wanted. In this theory I believe Donald Love uses the tech to invent the Smartphone in the GTA Universe. 4. The Alien Tech teleports him into the HD universe and Donald Love uses the Tech to invent the Oppressor Flying Bike. These are my theories on what was in the package and what happened to Donald Love

That really makes no sense because GTA III came out years prior to GTA San Andreas, it had none of the established plot that the games after it had. The game is also set in a somewhat realistic world as well, there is barely any of the goofy stuff from the future games, so chances that the writers back in 2001 thought that the package contained some sort of alien technology is completely off the table because that's not what the story is about. Considering how much of a messed up person Donald Love is and how the later games actually did shape him, it's very likely that the package contained some form of human meat. He's a cannibal after all, and since his description of the package is "valuable commodity that is hard to import due to certain "moral hypocrisies" of current days", it's very likely that's what it is. There are also no hints in any other games about it being something else, at least definitely none that would say that it's alien technology. The connection with The Truth and the weird business he had going on in San Andreas really is just far-fetched, but I'd say that it at least makes for a decent fan-canon.

She was Claude's main ally and employer and the yakuza would be a useful tool against the colombian cartel. I think a key reason why Claude continues working for Donald is because he is his most rich contact, apart from Salvatore. Many GTA protagonists betray others, whether it be for money, power, or revenge. Sometimes they fake their loyalties or they betray someone spontaneously. Carl’s work for the Loco Syndicate is such an example of superficial loyalty. He basically manipulated Mendez, Jizzy and Toreno to get a measure of revenge at Smoke and reduce drug flow into Los Santos. Or Niko’s killing of Ray Boccino. Niko betrayed and killed Ray for money. Tommy also killed Ricardo Diaz to assume control of his empire, which, like Carl’s betrayal was for revenge but Tommy was also power hungry. Claude may have taken Kenji’s words with anger, but Ray also yelled at him. My opinion? Claude accepted his failure to kill Leon, because Leon’s case was a screwup he didn’t prevent. Whereas his failure to dissuade the Colombians from allying with the Yardies wasn’t his fault.

Niko Bellic didn't really betray Ray Boccino, though? It's been pretty clear that both didn't like each other, Ray didn't trust Niko and neither did Niko trust him. The Ray killing was organized by his own mafia boss, Pegorino. Niko was nothing but an assassin in that act, a hired gun. The organizer of the assassination was the one who wanted the victim dead, so it really was Pegorino who betrayed Ray. Niko gets no blame in that part because he really was just like a tool that was used to send a message. This same logic was used in the very same game as well, when Niko killed Petrovic's son on the orders from Mikhail Faustin. The game explicitly had Dimitri Rascalov stating that Niko wasn't blamed for it because he was a hired gun, that's why all of the heat was coming strictly to Faustin.

Ray considered Niko a valuable asset, trusted him over Johnny’s word, and also helped him plenty. Niko was the means to Ray’s demise, and while Niko shows genuine remorse for his actions, he still did so without hesitation. Niko betraying other people doesn’t make him unlikeable, the difference is why he does what he does. Dimitri for example enjoys betraying others, Claude betrayed others for money and Niko showed genuine remorse for pretty much every act of betrayal he did. Faustin himself for example deems Niko’s actions against him a betrayal. Even if Niko was a hired gun he still had Faustin’s respect and after being betrayed by Dimitri Niko is remorseful and realised he made a mistake betraying Mikhail because he was right about Dimitri.

And apparently the cartel wanted the old man to make them more legitimate and Donald wants to get the old man to make himself more influential. I haven't played this remastered version and I don't want to, but I saw videos of it and it seems that this glitch at the end of the Escort Service mission always happens on the remaster, while on the original it was something that could happen but mostly it did not happen, every single video of people that I've seem completing this mission completed it in a glitchy way and not in the normal way.

I have been playing through GTA 3: The Definitive Edition for the past couple of days and I’ve recently completed the mission Escort Service. During said mission, there were no NPC drivers in the tunnel and the truck turned into the destination where is was supposed to so hopefully, that means that in the Definitive Edition, they’ve fixed these major problems which occurred with this mission in the past. This is something that needed fixed big time because this mission is hard and time-consuming enough as it is.

Fun facts: In an any % speedrun if you kill kenji before doing his missions his missions doesn’t appear anymore (obviously because he’s dead it’ll be weird and creepy to do a mission for a man you just killed) I’m not a speed runner at all but knowing that gta has a few hard missions I always do any % some missions you don’t do (a few of Ray’s and DL’s missions, along with Joey’s missions in Portland after killing Sal)

For escort service, it’s better to drive all the way to the garage instead of following the van, the van will not take any sort of damage if your far away from the draw distance, however when he gets to the garage he will always be glitched so go ahead and bump into him to fix his pathing glitch.
