I remember immediately after 9/11 when many Americans were grounded in Canada with no way to get across the border for several days. Canadians opened their homes and businesses to provide for them. One small town was overwhelmed with Americans but they rallied and saw that everyone had food, shelter, medicine if they needed it, and a way to call home. In this vase a minority Liberal party has support from another party (one Canadians will never put in charge)and together they have formed a transactional agreement that gives the Lib's a voting majority. The ability for power sharing between parties that also effectively cancels out Parliamentary non confidence voting will be legislated out of existence once the Conservative come to power. She "doesn't find it funny" because there's a ring of truth to it- as is the case with any good joke. Back in the 80s, during the most recent Quebec Secession Movement, both Alberta and Saskatchewan entered into discussions to join the US. As they put it at the time, they'd rather join the US than be ruled by Ontario. Based on her appearance, I'm guessing she's old enough to remember that, and to know that it's a joke but also as she said "dangerous" to plant those ideas in the minds of Canadians again. Look at the responses from Canadians, there's a lot of them who are not opposed to the idea.
