I'm starting to notice something-when Trump is out of his element (like almost anytime a reporter asks him a question that needs an honest or intelligent answer), he gets the same facial expression for a second or two-he knits his brow, looks furtive and confused, even a touch panicked-then his bravado and ego rise up to quickly fill the void. Then he speaks, often in a belligerent, uniformed and unintelligent way. Many of his recent gaffes and reversals (like today's 3hr abortion turnaround) arise from the fact that he really hasn't thought his positions out and lacks true conviction.

My god, the body language is stunning - it's obvious that he doesn't know that it's not good to be quoting fascist dictators, and the exact moment he realizes this. He commits several micro-expressions (brief, involuntary facial expressions) which are a clear tell that he's thinking "oh f&*k, how do I get out of this - and what comes next is always an absolute lie. The micro-expressions include a darting of the eyes to the left, subtle increase in posture height, and pursing of the lips. Ezechielpitau Well, I'm not sure I'd agree with this entirely. By quoting someone, you make some part of them your own. At the very least you willingly associate yourself with that person. And I think on an intuitive level, people understand it like that. If someone would be readily quoting Mussolini or Hitler or anyone of those amazing asswhipes on a regular basis to you, I'm sure you'd grow suspicious of their inner motives, even if the actual content of their quotes would be, in a vacuum, unproblematic. Unfortunately, who said a quote is partially what gives it meaning, which is why smart quotes often get associated with famous people, even if they might not have said them. Henry Ford is one of those people whose quotes I feel intense disdain for. He is quoted often and readily by people from all over the political spectrum. But he was one of the first big doners towards Hitlers NSDAP. While obviously being a great businessman, there is also reason to think he was horribly racist and a strong anti-semite... And somehow, most people I point that out to stop quoting him by themselves.

Yeah, quoting Hitler/Stalin/Mussolini is suspicious. But just like Ford, there are quite a lot of people who were smart and famous for a good reason but I still disagree with them in certain areas: Kant was an incredible thinker but also antisemite, Schopenhauer has said some great stuff but hated/belittled women. And I'm sure you can find something negative (maybe less dramatic) about pretty much every person. Let's imagine for a moment that one of the most famous philosophical quotes, "cogito ergo sum" would have been first uttered by Stalin. I'd say it would still be quoteworthy. (Btw, just to reiterate: This is a minor point and also mostly true for us not famous people. Any politician with a brain would not have quoted this or would have really made sure to distance himself from Mussolini and made clear why he still thought it was quoteworthy)

It's not actually a Mussolini quote originally. He is not the one who came up with it although he might have picked it up. It was originally said by one of the bravest fighters of British occupation in the subcontinent, Tipu Sultan. A man who was greatly feared by the British empire. He said this when he was attacked by a much greater power who looked down upon his people as 'savages.' He told his people that it was better to live like a lion and live for one day fighting for their land than to accept humiliation by accepting defeat at the hands of the British and live a hundred years like sheep. I didn't even know that Mussolini picked it up somehow because he's certainly not the original source of this quote.

If Trump is US president this would Affect the whole World ...in a very Bad way. He thinks America should get rid of some allies. He would highly increase tensions between ...well. .. EVERYBODY who has SOME conflict with someone when the US is involved in some minor way. Can you imagine this guy discussing with Putin about peacefull solutions for the Syria crisis? He thinks Paris is a German City. Such uneducation would likely lead to an end of relations between the European Countries and the US causing economic disadvantages for all involved. And to fight Terrorism he would stop supporting non-extremist islamic groups so they can defend themselves against extremists (I'm also talking about Turkey here Since it is a Muslim country and NATO member). Instead he would be against the WHOLE Islam. This would cause much more tensions & conflicts especially in the Arabic world (as if there wouldn't be already enough). Trump would prefer the use of Military to solve 'problems' (yay wars :[ ). His hatred against Islam, his plans to reduce the freedom of press and other policies would likely lead to sanctions from other countries. How would he react to that? Remember: Unlike North Korea he would have his ways to put pressure on almost every country in the world. => If Donald Trump gets elected there would be no place in the world where you are save from is insane "politics".
