Doncaster Model Railway layout in 00 gauge 4mm

A friend and myself were lucky enough to be invited back to visit this wonderful layout again and take some stock to have a play. The sheer size of the layout and the variation of stock is mesmerising. John White, the owner, is always a fantastic host and has taken real care to ensure that this layout runs perfectly, ive been to visit on a few occasions now and everything runs like clockwork, the trackwork is sublime. I cant wait to visit again soon as there's always something new to see on each visit and could happily lose hours sitting watching trains go by on this layout

Thanks Martin, my scotsman had 9 on and a dead vitrains 47 which has a diecast chassis which I reckon equates to 3 coaches so it put it a good showing

The Deltics, you didn't stand next to them for very long idling unless you wanted a headache from the noise and clag. Noise absorbing panels were fitted behind the driver and second man seats to make inside the cab more comfortable. !

Takes me back to Saturdays in the early sixties, all day spotting at Donny with the odd trip further afield as pocket money allowed. I bought my Hornby Dublo Deltic from Cutriss model shop in 1963. Halcyon Days.

11 coaches is fairly modest for ECML trains, 13 to 15 not uncommon, so yes, the trains are realistic.
