Hey everybody, if ya get either the 12.0 or the 8.0, charge them right away, and keep them at about a 60-75% charge, and REGISTER them with Milwaukee, because despite being really good batteries, they are prone to becoming unbalanced, and then they get the dreaded ‘Three Bar’ fully charged syndrome!

Wait for the forge 12.0 boys. It’s so much better than the faulty old model. I used one the other day and it was sweet

I doubt the Forge 12.0 will go on sale for a reasonable price within the next 2 years though. It'll output 7% more power than an XC5.0 but cost 4x the price.

@@enthused7591 I agree. When these new batteries come out the asking price is outrageous but don't people will still buy it. When the 5AH PowerStack came out DeWalt was looking for $249 for one. Now I frequently see them for $100 each and often cheaper. Woot had them a while back for $139 for a 2 pack which works out to $69.50 each. I'm glad I waited and I'll do the same with the Forge batteries. I still haven't gotten the 6AH Forge battery yet because it hasn't really dropped in price yet. But it will. I just need to be patient. Lol

See i like the 12ah and this is a great price but so far every 12 i use eventually only charges to 3 bars. 😮

I'll alwways prefer the 5.0 batteries over the 6.0 HO and above. They're 40% smaller and lighter and give you 95% the power. As long as they're priced right, 5.0s are the perfect battery.

Yes I agree in a certain aspect ..but unfortunately these new tools are really designed to be powered by the high output batteries

They had a hack on the half inch mid torque on slick deals for $129 bare tool a couple days ago, but I'm not sure if it's still available. I have one and it's a great, very powerful impact wrench

There are hacks with the m18 2.0 battery as well, which includes the mid torques.

Delivered today, is not showing up on my HD account and my PayPal acct not charged for the 12/5 combo? - had to come here to see what to sell the 5 for… will wait to see if they charge me for that combo….can’t even find an order confirmation showing the combo price, possible Glitch!
