That's not vocal flexing, that's just their normal thing. It's called vocal flexing when you see them singing LIVE on stage, especially in Japanese concerts cuz they're 100% live, and they sang STABLY despite heavy choreographies on most of the songs, for 3-4 hours. 💅🏻 Check out Purple Line and Keep Your Head Down in Nissan Stadium. 📝 Changmin has always been that powerhouse since they discovered him 20 years ago. He's talented, and gifted. He's amazing. ❤️ They were an acapella group, with Changmin taking the mostly high notes parts, and Yunho was originally the base, rapper and main dancer, although he could do high notes too. When 3 left, they were working hard to fill the missing parts of their old songs, so that way they improved so much of their voices, especially Yunho cuz people said he couldn't sing, but look at his vocal range now, he could do vocal fry in Rebel up to those high notes in Down. Check out Changmin's Devil, Chocolate and Maniac, of course you're gonna miss Changmin inhuman vocals and gorgeousness. 😁 But please check out Yunho's solo cuz they're insane too, especially Nexus and Thank U cuz they're both cinematic masterpieces with incredible music. Nexus was screened in the Asia Short Film Festival in September 2023. 🙌🏻

I definitely gotta check out both their solos. I love both those songs! Honestly, me listening to them and being essentially new to them it doesn’t feel like their missing any elements even with three gone. They def gained a fan out of me! Yunho has actually been impressing me lately. But they are an amazing pair. Love it 😊

I agree completely that they do an amazing job as a duo and aren’t missing anything. I will say however, that when it came to harmonies and ballads, there was a magic that can’t be recaptured with just 2. I highly recommend watching some of those songs live as 5 members and you’ll see that there is very much a difference. I love Max and Yunho and it’s hard to believe that among the 5 members, they were actually not the main singers! 2 out of the 3 that left were the main singers (if you watch Love in the Ice live at the Tokyo Dome, you’ll see that those 3 members were integral). Anyway, loved your reaction! Hope you get a chance to react to their older stuff as 5 members but also their solo stuff!

You’re so right. They are true gems. It amazes me everyday just how much I’ve missed. But that just makes all of this so worthwhile. I am going to start listening to the former TVXQ very soon. They have such a repertoire of music and I haven’t seen one person say they’re overrated or overhyped or anything which is rare for any group but every time I see them brought up everyone shares the same feelings. Max ended up being my bias lol but Yunho has been surprising me with the growth I’ve been able to pinpoint since starting to watch their older work. I’ve recorded several reactions to them so I’ll upload soon 😊

Need I remind you Yunho (right) started as the group's rapper 😂 Changmin was also given the least lines as a vocalist. TVXQ are the godfathers of kpop, undeniably. (Junsu/Xiah was the main vocalist, if you wanna chrck him out he also has a killing voice) As a whole TVXQ dropped in popularity when the 3 other members left, but especially the ones that left. The lawsuit was really rough and they were blacklisted from promoting on basically every tv channel. Yunho and Changmin obviously cameback but as time passed and other groups debuting (especially EXO, BTS etc) they lose the spotlight. It is sad they are still not together but what happens, happens. If you want to see them as 5, definitely watch their Japan concerts and performances. THEY ARE A DIFFERENT LEVEL HONESTLY. Love in the Ice in Japanese makes me literally cry. They lost some of their popularity in South Korea because their main focus is Japan. They’re still big in Japan more than ever. They did 75,000 capacity Nissan Stadium for 3 nights just a few years ago. 20 years and still going strong. They’re still putting out amazing albums and dance concepts. There’s no other group like them. They’re solos are chefs kiss. ♥️♥️
