Thanks. I suggest you get Venture Electronics ODO if you can. It supports MIC and sounds better than this AM01. But if you can't get ODO, then get AM01 or JCally JM7, both also supports MIC

Thanks. At this level for ultra compact dongles they are mostly equally matched technically with some very small differences in areas of sound richness or timbre. Simply put, unless you sit and really focus on finding the differences between JM12 , JA56 or AM01, they practically sounding the same if you are driving IEMs under 32 Ohm or sensitivity above 110 dB. The only ultra budget dongle that I consider more resolving and better with dynamics at this segment is the Venture Electronics ODO

Comparing between two of the very best is like comparing two diamonds with different cut and style, how can one say this cut is better over the other? They are both equally musical and enjoyable. The difference is that M1P has a bit of advantage with sound texture richness and even more analog timbre while DC04Pro offers more air and openness to the sound, so which sound presentation you like more in this scenario? My personal choice? I choose HIBY FC6 over everything else, if you want my honest answer

That's a gorgeus backdrop, Andy! Can I ask a question? On the specs of many dac/dongles on amazon, it says that phone calls through the device might not work if the device already has a 3.5mm (which is my case, having a Samsung A52), as if the device tries to force the call through the 3.5mm port instead of whatever is connected to the Usb C slot. Did you test if this is also the case on the KZ AM01? Or if the KZ dongle fully supports calls on android using iems with inline microphones, also on devices that already have a 3.5mm output? If this works correctly (being able to answer the occasional call hands-free while listening to music on-the-go on an android device is sooo convenient), I might grab a couple for me and the wifey : )

Durable cable? Between KA13 and M1P? very close but I would suspect M1P flat ribbon cable to be more tolerant to abuse with time and usage

No hissing sound even when used with very sensitive IEMs for me. Bass quality? it is fast, crisp and tidy, also largely depending on the capabilities of your attached listening devices since AM01 is neutral and uncolored

The truth is, for Chu either would be fine, sounds the same regardless because Chu is not so scalable with power so the extra 0.6 VRMS by AM01 will not provide much difference to the final output since both dongles use the same CX DAC

My old FB account has to be closed as it has security issues, now running on a fresh one with triple security measures. Upgrade from Final Audio A5000 and SE846? I would simply say Shure KSE1500 (KSE1200 amp only module), otherwise A5000 is already operating at a level hard to beat at under $500, unless of course you are looking for sidegrades with different tuning and flavoring, of which I personally use SIVGA Nightingale more than any other IEMs now
