What Barou is doing would be stupid in the confines or regular, everyday soccer...but this program is meant to turn everybody into a Barou but with the best skill in order to back it up. What Barou lacks is the skills to back it up right now, which is funny to say considering how much of a beast he is in everybody's minds. Everybody sees the talent there...the issue though is that Barou was starting ahead of everybody else, so they have been evolving and catching him or surpassing him, and he hasn't yet had a reason to evolve. Nobody has given him a target of rage until Isagi, so this could be exactly what Barou needs in order to take his skills up to where his ego is. Blue Lock is not meant to change players, it is meant to evolve players. Isagi lost to Rin because Rin devoured him...Barou is losing his stance now because Isagi is devouring him...Chikiri scored that last goal because he refused to be devoured and thus he evolved. Barou must evolve and devour Isagi, otherwise he will become actually useless, he can't become a tool of Isagi only or else he becomes a tiger with no fangs.

But if he legit doesn't understand that what he's doing isn't going to work no matter how many times he tries then he genuinely is an actual idiot. It was so embarrassing watching this episode, I was cringing so hard at him you have no idea. He has no brain, he has no tactics, he has zero football IQ, he doesn't understand why he's losing the ball all the time. In real life (and BL is a realistic anime, don't tell me it's not) if you have 5 players all coming at you what you do is you pass the ball, lose all the players coming at you, position yourself better, and prepare for the potential pass so you can score. You can't just dribble your way through all 11 players and score. If you are literally god tier (like Messi) you can do that from time to time but not consistently in every game.
