DK64 is my favorite game of all time. I remember that back in '99 my cousin got it the day it came out, and I distinctly remember playing it for the first time. It was only the third game I ever played (the first 2 were Zelda OOT and Mario Kart). That christmas I got an N64 with this game. It's still very dear to me, and after nine years I still play it. I have since gotten all 201 bananas... Yet to this day I play it. This is my favorite DK64 song, and favorite game song in general. Okay!
@rubberbandba11craft Жыл бұрын
This song has some hidden depth to it. The winding of the music box and the whirring of its motor, they are present whenever the music box returns. Until the last arguably creepiest time it returns, as if the box came to life on its own

This is one of my favorite levels ever. It's been built so perfectly. The soundtrack is fantastic, from the eerie music-box song, to the frantic noise of the Machine at the very bottom, to Mad Jack's psychotic laughter. The gameplay is challenging, but not difficult, with lots of alternative quests and an element of exploration. It's a brilliant mixture of creepiness and humor that really does put you in the mind of a toy escaping from the factory. 10/10.

Just want to leave something here: Just played Storyteller recently and at some point I thought I knew the song, even though I played the game the first time. I indistinctly knew it's from DK64. After further "inspection", I found out, that the mentioned song in Storyteller is called 'Brahms falls again and again off the cliff'. And that song is based on a melody in Johannes Brahms - Hungarian Dance. Maybe I just hear this, maybe it was totally obvious to everybody or possibly, I'm totally wrong, but I think that some parts of Frantic Factory are also based on Brahms. Especially the xylophone parts. So, I'm done here, thank you for reading, have a lovely day!

So did no one notice that the music of this level is LITERALLY the first notes of the theme of the very first Donkey Kong game, like the Arcade game from the 80s, just remixed? Nintendo went completely meta with this level. There is a secret room you can access playing as Donkey Kong. In there, there is a Donkey Kong arcade game that Donkey Kong can activate. You play the original Donkey Kong, as Donkey Kong, in Donkey Kong 64. And if that wasn't meta enough, one of the earliest levels in the game features the theme from Donkey Kong Country.
