I feel like it was a missed opportubity that donkey wasn't unlockable in dkc2(and then bkth donkey and diddy in dkc3). They could have been required to get the "real ending" with their abilities the other kongs lack.

Amazing!!! The 1st level though is a bit shaky. It’s supposed to be a jungle… however it goes into so many things that are not jungle themed. I also feel that themes should be drawn out more & that this would perhaps make it less brain busting to create this game. Never the less the work that was put into this so far is amazing!!

Maybe this was made on porpoise to showcase the different assets in the level design and the music, but if not I feel like this game would benefit from some thematic cohesion in between levels, everything seems a little chaotic from the amount of enemies in each level to the sudden changes between one level and the next. Other than that the game play seems pretty solid

Thats how I felt when watching this. It goes from jungle to desert like it's nothing, then from a temple to a forest. The game could use a bit more build up on levels. A few jungle levels, then desert perhaps with temples next etc.

I agree, i actually am one of the composers. my track is the one at 10:27 there is some poor communication due to language barrier so its a little hard to contribute at times but its amazing how far this project has come :)

I like the idea of having the 4 Kongs as a choice from the DK barrels. I love the tone of the music and the atmosphere of comfort and intrigue they bring. Brings back the general vibe and feel of the true DKC games. I hate the level designs, no proper theme. And having nearly every enemy from the old games in every level is not a good idea imo. Well done tho. Love the back ground, and music from that forest at dusk level 😄✌️

A fan so passioned that he creates a fan game most likely played every game of the franchise dozens of times to 100% I think he just couldn't find a sprite. Creating one by his own is almost impossible to make it fit the style of the already existing sprites.

i tried playing this today and the physics and hit detection are so weird, i died countless times on the very first blue jumping kremling. i try to jump on his head but it treats it as if i jumped straight into his front, whereas i know from plenty of experience that that same hit would have killed him instead of me in the real games. i get you can roll into them, but i can kill them just as well either way in the real games, i shouldn't have to choose between one method or the other here. keep in mind i'm not bad at all at the real games and that's something i would never do unless i really wasn't paying attention at all. i don't know how far it's come since that demo was made (i think the version i played was v0.3 which is the only version i could find to download) but the gamefeel was really bad coming from growing up playing the dkc trilogy countless times as a kid and well into adulthood. maybe if i played it long enough then i would adjust, but that doesn't seem to be what the game is supposed to be. it seems what this game has been pegged as, is if you liked the original games, then here's more of that to love, but it feels just enough like a different game that i try to play it exactly the same as the old ones and i just get fucked in the ass relentlessly because it feels so weird and off. like it's similar enough that you think you could play it the same, but you try to do something as simple as jumping on a jumping enemy to kill it and it consistently and repeatedly kills you every attempt. it's almost there, it just needs more fine tuning and polish.

This is amazing!! I loved oak island, fungi Forrest, and the kremetary. they did a great job of mashing dkc1,2,and 3 together and I didn't mind what others refer to as haphazard level design. Really enjoyed this. Yeah oak island is amazing. Reminds me of evenings I've spent with my girlfriend in the woods. 😆💖🍄

Ok yeah this is amazing. I can't stop watching it. Anyone who says this is a mess is just someone that can't be pleased. My only criticism would be the outer world screen where you navigate from level to level. That was I admit a little helter skelter and silly but I'm just in love with this demo overall. I wish it were something I could buy for snes. Oak island and the kremetary are instant classics.

Estoy fascinado con este juego. Cuando vi el preview del vídeo pensé que solo habían reparchado algunas cosas o que era un simple mod del juego usando cosas que ya estaban en el código de programación del juego. Pero veo que se han tomado muchas molestias y han creado varias cosas que yo nunca Vi en otro DK. Además de crear música nueva solo para el juego. Me agradó mucho ver esto. Lo único malo es que me di cuenta por allá al final del vídeo que el ejecutable se pega mucho aún, no sé si es del reproductor de KZbin o no pero habían ocasiones en que se pegaba la imagen del vídeo, pero en el audio escuchabas que aún se estaba ejecutando y que seguías avanzando.

Aqui vão uns pedidos de fã pra fã, se possível: já que este é um jogo de PC e não uma ISO do SNES-CD, pq não habilitar os quatro kongs de uma vez, já que não tem limite de sprite? Vc não acha que o mundo que vc jogou precisar ter uma temática mais sólida? Tipo, floresta, pântano e deserto tudo junto? Isto é diferente do que rolou nos três jogos oficiais. Falando em fidelidade ao material original, PARABÉNS pelas novas músicas e novos sprites, em especial o da tarântula! É o tipo de coisa que eu imaginava num suposto DK4 oficial. Último pedido, se puder, faz uma live tech, explicando a linguagem e os frameworks na programação. Abs

I love the fact that it’s a big mix of everything from the original 3 games.....and the DK barrel how you can pick your partner. Music wasn’t bad. I don’t like DK’s and Kiddie’s level finish celebration. I wish you would’ve showed Diddy and Dixie. Overall though I’d play it. I’d give it a chance.

This engine and all of the original content is very good. Overall, they are doing a good job with this project. The only thing I would say based on this video is that the level design is very mashed together. There is no real theme and doesn't flow well. Still looks cool though, I always wanted to make a DKC game.
