I think it's just some of the animations seem wonky. Like when you're riding the Rhino and you go to charge an enemy, there is no sense of a buildup... he just plows through lol.

Still, all the issues you can see here are things you see in a much smaller amount in many modern games and remasters, this is just like magnified a ton because you obviously don't have the time to polish everything by yourself. I know that 3D assets are much harder to create properly so they look good like their 2D counterparts. I also see that it's very very hard to put in the same kind of 'soul' most of the time.

Take one minute to actually look at the video and read the title and you'd know this is a fun little thing that the uploader enjoyed screwing around with. Unironically this isn't bad. The person who recreated is probably more a programmer than a designer, but I feel that with some small changes to make the context adapt do the new proposal it would be a great game. But I also know the intention of the video is to show the contrast of realism in traditional games.

A very interesting project, specially as a mean of study. I'm sure you learned a lot and honed you game development skills while doing it. If you really wanted to make it into a finished fan made version (or at least demo) of the game, it can certainly use some polishing, as you surely know. It seems like a good project to me, but you have to take care of the defects, the sound of the bananas is very loud, in the rat boss the bananas that are in the front look very small compared to the ones on the side that are gigantic, The car of the Mina has no sound when jumping and does not adjust to the position of the tracks, the kig k rool has no sound, among other minor errors, I wonder when this game will end and if you plan to share?
