Donkey Kong Country uses a lot of over the top antics in it's gameplay. One of the most iconic of those things being the classic Donkey Kong Barrel Cannon. What if, instead of trying to solve the issue of travel arc by increasing velocity, we instead take the issue at face value? If we're to assume that DK really is going 26.52 m/s in an environment where gravity is acting at 44 m/s^2 with zero drop, then correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems we simply have to assume that he's traveling at orbital velocity and therefore isn't being pulled closer to the planet. Now, I'm not crazy on math, but that seems to imply a very small, dense planet. No idea how small, but could it make sense that the planet isn't much bigger than the island that the game takes place on? If not, how small would it be? Is it possible at all?
