Baltimore in the house! To this day the DC/Baltimore area is still spewing out great drummers (Dennis Chambers, Sean Rickman, Greg Grainger, etc.). Chester is such a humble man. I'm a drummer and a believer in Christ. By the time I was playing professionally I was mature enough to handle the club scenes and various negative influences. I also come from a "religious" background which I somewhat distanced myself from in my youth. Many believers don't understand that God wants you to take Him everywhere you go, even in the clubs and bars. It's not for everybody but God's light can shine all the more brightly in places that are dark. Sometimes there's more spiritual darkness in the places that claim to be places of light. This video is such an education. Chester really shares the reality from a life angle that most don't get to experience. I never rose to the heights of skill or notoriety that Chester achieved but I can confirm the truth of much of what he's sharing. It's so rich. Interesting to notice Chester's tendency to grip his wrists, stroke his arms and hold his joints. Would love to know what that's all about. Enjoyed this video immensely

I came to this video for the insight into the Zappa band and that was great to hear. However, the most inspirational aspect of this video is the spirit of God and the meaning he can bring to your music and your life.

Chester Thompson, listening and watching you play With Pst Don and Pst Kenoly together with Justo Almario, Abraham Laboriel, Carl Abrecht, Alex Acuna, Paul Jackson and my all time favorite producer Tom Brooks blessed my childhood and I'd hope to hear from all of you once again. Pastor Don I'm praying that you will be able to rally these amazing people one more time for a studio session to God's glory. Thank you so much for this (in my language Kiswahili ASANTE SANA)

I really enjoyed this interview. Listening, and watching Mr. Thompson play on those Integrity recording back then made a major impression on me as a kid that has lasted to this day. My favorite moment will always be when the band went into a jam at the end of the "God Is Able" recording. Watching Abe, Chester, Alex, Carl, and Danny just give an instrumental praise will forever be a highlight. I know this is a year and a half later, but I hope you can do an interview with Abe Laboriel Sr. That has to be an amazing testimony from such a humble man with a huge heart.
