This is def in my top 5 favorite Donna Summer songs of all time - so being a little sacred to me I was apprehensive about even listening to a remix. That said, I'm not mad at this. I feel the odd vocal effects actually work within the context of this remix. Good job - def not an embarrassment and def not generic at all. I'll play it in the car! :P

Being a long time Donna's fan and a present fan of yours as well, I was thrilled when I heard that you were going to remix "Grand illusion" (an obscure and avantgarde track of hers). I like the new production and musical arrangements, but it's a shame that you weren't provided with the original acapella and had to get it through some extraction program. The vocals sound odd but I guess that's something you couldn't improve. Great work in the arrangements and in throwing new light over this original brilliant song... but the final result is not what it could have been. I'm impatient to hear what you've done with Donna's "Nightlife". Greetings from Spain :o)

Yup. I agree. It's what makes me not really feel this mix. All aspects have to be on point and the vocals are not due to their not so good quality.

This is an okay remix. I like the original better, but the remix adds a different spin to it. I will probably end up buying it just because it's Donna. I'd like to hear Le Flex's take on "Dinner With Gershwin" with original vocal stems and no vocal effects, if possible.

@@JimmieJamOfTheDay I was being complimentary to the remixer without usage of many words, but since you specifically asked: Kudos for him for taking on such a track (obscure) and musically creating something fresh and modern. I just don't understand the intent of the song, it was not commercial, but the strangest one of the entire album, for that one to be remixed.....???? It certainly isn't or wasn't meant to be a pop song, nor one with a groove. While never one of my fav's off The Wanderer, it worked as the moody, spacy and ethereal track it was. So although it's the one and only Donna Summer, I don't see this being a commercial radio played hit nor a club one.....so that's where I'm going with this. I am not debating, disrespecting, changing or putting down anyone's taste or effort. While many are 'wowing' I'm just saying simply it's a no for me. ;)

@@romerjusu3804 It's definitely not one of the best. Hopefully, the rest that are on the pending album will be better. I'm not so into this one simply because of the vocal. It doesn't sound like the remixer had the original vocal stem sources. Donna' s vocals were in stereo on the original track. They're not on this remix. As such, the vocals are not as clear as they are on the original.

@@romerjusu3804 Donna was a vocal chameleon, she liked doing these different tones to create moods to her songs, which made her unique absolutely but this voice yeah doesn't match the modern take I feel..it worked on original track...Hopefully other remixes will be more identifiable to her voice/style...hope.

NO - just flat out NO - this song didn't need to be given this looped/studio "remixed" treatment - leave the original as Donna intended and don't bother with this noise - the vocals are all wrong - too distorted and the originality of her amazing voice is chopped into segments that aren't cohesive and make no sense whatsoever! And stop removing my reviews - just because you don't like them - be an adult and handle some criticism....don't know your work...but based on what you've done here....don't want to know anything further - at least Guetta gives us something fresh....this was stale on arrival~!

Lol the fact that you like Guetta....tells us a lot about your taste in music. Anyway- This is a remix. Segments of vocals and removal of originality is often part of a remix. The distortion is because of him not having access to the proper acapella track if I recall his explanation. Most of us are open minded and like this different take. But you do you✌️
