I saw her live and that voice was something unique and distinctive. She had a power and a vibrato that was opera trained. I never felt like she got the accolades she deserved. Truly a legend. RIP
@Kreatures1002 ай бұрын
@@Youcannotsing you are littered with inaccuracies She had opera training with the Vienna Folk Opera so your assertion that she wasn’t opera trained is incorrect. And she also wasn’t a gospel singer nor would never be considered a ‘gospel’ singer like Cece Winans and Shirley Ceasar.

Check out more of her interviews to see how quick witted she was. Her 1983 concert A Hot Summer Night includes some really funny bits. Also she often talked about how odd it was when the person from Casablanca records asked her if she could be sexy because she had always seen herself as more of a comedian.

Damn I still miss Donna SO much. Would only be 69 now- NOTHING today. Easily should've lived at least another 20 years. Was so full of life, classy, lovely NO pretentiousness, arrogance or diva-ness (hello Aretha! Diana and many others) yet was/is a legend and defined a entire decade and acted like the most down to earth angel. Off topic but Meredith looks SO hot here. Is like 45 here yet looks 30s at the most. Wow.

As always, Donna was gorgeous & The Voice was incredible. Miss Star Jones - on the other hand - was on the hunt for a Gay Husband. That search ended when she married Al Reynolds. "How You Doin, Al?" ....
