I had the pleasure of meeting her in 1979. Besides being phenomenal, she was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. I really want people to understand that about her. She was a genuine, kind person. There was the stage Donna, and then the off stage. I’m so privileged to have been able to meet her. Beautiful lady

Watching these video's really makes me think of my Mom... we used to turn your music up on our high fi and boogie all over the living room together to your music Donna.... say hi to her in Heaven as she was one of your biggest fans.. her name is Pauline Evans... rest peaceful Queen of Disco!! Much love and my condolences to your family!
The world lost a true classy lady, mother and wife. Not to mention one of the finest pure singers of any generation. She was humble and kind and was the epitome of class. That is something lost in the so-called singers of today. None of them could carry Donna's shoes if they had a dump truck. She deserved the accolade of diva in the true sense of the word, not like it is tossed around like popcorn as it is today. A beautiful voice has been stilled. R I P.

On this day in 1978 {May 27th} Donna Summer performed this song on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand... Two weeks earlier on May 13th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #3 and spent 21 weeks in the Top 100... It reached #5 on Billboard's R&B chart... And it won an Academy Award & a Golden Globe award for "Best Original Song" from the movie "Thank God, It's Friday"... Sadly; Donna Summer passed away on May 17th... R.I.P. Donna Summer was called the Queen of Disco but I disagree with that title. Back in the late 70's She had hit before Disco. I would call her The Queen of Pop. In the 70's We had Olivia Newton John, Helen Reddy, Karen Carpernter that ruled most of the airways for female singers and Donna had hit after hit after hit after hit. . If you were a teenager in the 70's you can certainly connect this song to a moment in your life you'd like to relive. A true angel and legend. NOT JUST DISCO.
