You know that's true because anytime we heard Donna Summer we started dancing and doing the hustle. Her music was addictive and electric and she should have been named the Queen of Disco. We need to suggest that.

This was my all time favorite record, my parents would get so mad cause I would play it over and over. I was only 6 years old. I still remember living in New Jersey getting ready to go catch the Path Train to World Trade Center to see the boats at the Hudson River for the Bicentennial celebration in Battery Park and before we left I waited for them listening to this record. I remember like it was yesterday. To be a kid again and hear this angel voice through those speakers. Funny thing is that I still have that record, and now that vinyls are making a comeback I bought a record player; I still play it all the time and my kids love it, they say its better than todays music.

Of all music artists from the entire 50s to 90s across the board, Donna Summers sang more songs than anyone that I liked enough to purchase .In short she reigns as my all time favorite singer. Period. Her music has a specific sound that anyone even from the disco era who excelled came no where near her. She is in my opinion and as evidenced from above my all time favorite. This is a 17 minute performance. Not a minute too much. I love Donna Summer. I was quite affected.

A perennial favorite in the Toronto discos in the mid 70s. Everyone got up and danced. This extended version is very well produced as she was singing intermittently, not just the disco beats. She is no question the queen of disco era. Listening to this version has brought back memories of many decadent nights of disco dancing.
Compared to the shit thats out now (except for a few) 70's music punk or good dance music to me is righy up there with Beethoven Bach etc...

The first megamix worth listening to everyday. Used it to start exercise class - it must have been perfect - I used it for years. Became theme music - people knew I was teaching when they heard this blasting from the penthouse of the Century City Medical Center in Los Angeles. First time hearing it now since 1977, wow. Slower than I remember. Still, somewhat of a masterpiece for its time.
