Hi Mike, thanks for your informative video! While I like to watch videos from other more expensive brands, it’s great to see beginners aren’t left behind in the e-drum market. Well done 👍.

I think this set really has a market considering its price.

Nice review. All the samples sound like they have a gated reverb effect, but for $500 it's dealable.

Exactly, that's where Im at with it.

I could see myself using one of these for late nights practicing The New Breed... mmm, tempting...

I like the sound of that!

Nice review. Some of the Donner stuff isn't too bad for the $$$

Yeah, this one has been my favorite of what I’ve tried thus far and was the cheapest.

Hey Mike, What was that folding drum cart you use for gigs? I don't remember which video that was. Looked pretty sweet. I'm getting one if you are still happy with yours. Thanks!

I've been using it for 12 year. Toured all around the country with it, 1000's of gigs on it! Feel feel to use this link and support the channel by doing so! sweetwater.sjv.io/c/5015118/937020/11319?prodsku=R2RT&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FR2RT--rock-n-roller-r2rt-micro-multi-cart&intsrc=APIG_7338

If you go looking for a less expensive one do not get the ones that don't have the beater kick. They don't trigger properly because the pedal can miss the trigger. Also, read the information to make sure the snare has a rim shot trigger. I had an earlier set with the rubber trigger pads that worked great but didn't have rimshot.

Oh one thing I forgot. For some reason the new set I have (not Donner) only has a mini jack for output to an amp. Better to have a 1/2" jack if they have it. Otherwise you will need a computer or an adapter to hear it without headphones. edit the Donner DED200 does have the 1/2" jacks for output

You certainly have to sacrifice some features to get within this sort of price range, but I like this one for what it costs.

@@malonedrum I saw Amazon had the Donner 200 from $339 to $379 depending on model. (a few feature differences)

My experience.... Plug that thing into ezdrummer and it will sound like a dream. I've had an old Roland td4 for over a decade as my practice kit. Ezdrummer sounds make it sound better than the higher end stock Roland kits. Edit: made comment before you got there in the video 😅. Highly recommend ezdrummer too.

Why do all the drum samples still sound like 80s drum pads.
@malonedrum3 ай бұрын
I think that's subjective, but obviously Donner doesn't have the resources of other manufacturers yet when it comes to getting the latest in depth/detailed sounds. I enjoyed a number of kits on here, but I also enjoy some of the classic e drum samples as well.

Nice review indeed, but this sounds like a toy, it really sounds different from the quality acoustic sets on your channel.
@malonedrum4 ай бұрын
You're right, it sounds totally different than acoustic kits which I recorded with high quality microphones, preamps, processing and mixing that I've spent over 20 years developing my skills at.
