"Weighted" keys are very important if you are practicing with a goal of, or are also playing on, acoustic pianos. It is quite unusual to have that at this price. I'm of the belief that every home should have a piano (especially if there are kids) but one of these will do just fine.

The Donner seems like a good choice for a beginning student aspiring to play difficult classical pieces but does not have the space or budget to maintain a wood-based piano. It is great that it comes with a decent foot pedal, 200 plus rhythms and voices, good speakers, music stand and features a recording function. The connectivity and output jacks combined with the speakers make it a functional recital or performance instrument. Nevertheless, the Yamaha P-125 or the Casio 1000/3000 seem like better choices [in my opinion] as they seem to offer the possibility of fulfilling a student musicians creative and performance potential better.

But when I look at reviews on Amazon, I keep reading that all the keys are weighted equally. Additionally, the photo and description from Donner makes no mention of graded weights. Can you please confirm whether it is or isn’t graded (Heavier on left, lighter on right)? I’m hoping to purchase this weekend to take advantage of cyber Monday sales. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeremy. I want to get a digital piano after watching your videos. Which of the two would you personally recommend in terms of keyboard and sample quality: the donner dep-20 or the korg b2?
@SuzetteLouw3 жыл бұрын
If you want to practice at home the Donner is good, also if you want to connect it to a DAW it doubles as a midi controller for music production software. I'd say the Korg B2 voices may be of higher quality, but there a fewer and connectivity to your computer is not as straight forward. I would choose the Donner and once you outg row the Donner get a recital or ensamble piano above the USA$1000 mark.

The piano sound is meaty. I like it! Do you recommend this over PSR EW410? I wanna play in a more regular piano way. :D
@SuzetteLouw3 жыл бұрын
Hi Feraldy, This would be a good piano for you if you want to get close to the feel and, expressiveness of an accoustic piano as it has weighted keys. It depends on the type of piano pieces you want to play. Many classical pieces require the full 88 key range, for other music genres 61 keys will suffice unless you really want to get into deep bass parts along with the higher registers. Cheers, Suzette

I was hoping for Jeremy to do a review on this before black friday but the amazon reviews and the feature set were so compelling that I had to pull the trigger. I bought it as a holiday gift for my 8 year old who is learning to play. I want to give it to her as a surprise but I don't think I'll be able to wait that long! after reading the review, I want to open it up and play with it myself! Thanks for reaffirming my purchase Jeremy. I just have one question for you...I saw you mention that Donner had better features but lower quality than a Yamaha P45 for example. However, in the review, you raised no concerns about the feel of the keys or the sound quality. My daughter is a pianist, so these are the two most important things for me. what quality concerns do you have related to sound quality and keyboard feel? I trust you and I'm happy to pay the 100 more for the P45 if it is MUCH better than the Donner DEP 20 in those respects. Anyhow, you are great at what you do. I'll drop an update on this thread to let everyone know how she likes it. Everyone - one last thing, make sure to watch the ads that play during Jeremy's videos. It's how he gets paid for his work. Buying these keyboards, shooting and editing these videos isn't cheap. It's the least we can all do for the man!

Hi Jeremy, I am from Hungary, Europe. In 1991 I''ve bought a little Yamaha arranger keyboard, an absolutely simple one, although it had split and some automatic, single-finger accompaniment for the left hand. The thing was fully FM-synthesis, no MIDI, worked on 4 AA batteries only, had 120 fairly bad voices and a single 1/4 inch headphone out, but it had a single-line numeric keypad. I liked it, but not for its sound or capabilities, but know what for? It had mini keys, may be even mini-mini keys. So it was very-very portable. The worst and cheap $50-99 beginner/kid keyboards have at least a lightyear better sound in this years, but I miss for some years a fairly good, probably Yamaha PSR-E373-level arranger keyboard with mini keys! I live in a space-restricted apartment, have no room for a full-size 61-keys arranger. Please, suggest for me (and for the others with the same problem) a decent 61-key arranger keyboard with mini keys! Thanks in advance: Andrew

DAMN I’m having the same issue rn 😭😭😭😭😭 thing is korg is semi weighted while the donner is fully weighted which is closer to the feeling of an acoustic piano now Im wondering if sound is good enough but yes I think donner is the better choice

@@shadxw7623 I have purchased the liano and it's amazing , personally I am totally satisfied with it.

Hi Jeremy, I bought this keyboard and noticed that the upper keys are very quiet and soft compared to the middle and lower keys. Is this normal? I'm a beginner so don't know if my keyboard is defective or this is how pianos usually are.

Hello Which piano do you recommend, the Alesis recital grand or this one, Doner dep 20, I'm from Mexico but I don't know which keyboard to buy, here both are worth the same, but I don't know which one to buy

I can pick one of these up for right about $300 right now. I think I might just do it. I NEED TO PLAY RAGTIME

Looked at the IO.. Has USB MIDI for use with a workstation or lessons, but does not have regular MIDI ports.

Well it's very interesting and possibly a game changer in portable digital pianos. Hope the manufacturers give you a kick back, unlike Yamaha (ha-ha). Regards.

Would be great to get your thoughts on the DDP-60. Many of the current reviews I've seen are sponsored by Donner and therefore are potentially biased.

So , is the Donner Dep-10 a good option as well ? I'm going to buy my first keyboard and had the alesis recital on my sight , but if i stretch my budget a little I could buy the DEP-10. It's worth to choose the DEP-10 over the recital?

Hey I was wondering the exact same thing. Did you end up making a decision?
@radwanchamoun48793 жыл бұрын
I would definitely prefer the Dep-10 over the Recital. The sound quality is much better in my opinion.

we're in the same situation. i had the alesis recital in my amazon cart, but i found this. and i'm going for the real piano feel, i'm gonna go with the donner

If I were to buy this it's for the reason that I'm going to need a full piano keyboard. It looks like it. How many keys are there?

I got it and have to say it aint bad for what it costs. Good for beginners to early intermediates who arent fully sure that they will continue to play for years.
