I was born in DC in 1971 & grew up in the DMV & I’ve always felt this area doesn’t get near the credit it deserves for its contributions to music ….in the mainstream at least 😞 I mean Bad Brains,Clutch,the Onsessed,Pig Destroyer,Fat Trel,Chuck Brown & many more

I got to see the Bad Brains live in 1985 and they were a force of nature and to this day they are they best live show I ever went to, out of hundreds of shows. It was 90 minutes of non-stop music, they shifted from hardcore to reggae without skipping a beat. To those who were really in the punk scene in the early 80s all agree - the Bad Brains ruled.
