Always thought that we should be offering the language in both primary and high schools in Scotland.

Learn it, use it or lose it. It really is that simple. If people do not speak it between themselves and importantly to their children, it will simply stop being a living vernacular language in any location in Scotland. It's taken 500-700 years for it to be pushed out the lowlands, then out the vast majority of the mainland highlands and now we're really left with pockets in Islay, Tiree, some elderly speakers in the far north west mainland, a minority now in Skye and only just a majority in the Western Isles. Learn it, use it or lose it. Adults can learn it. It's not easy but it can be done.

"Then we started collectively working on songs using Gaelic." Donnie's is really overstating his role there.
