I enjoyed hearing Robert’s sincere admiration for Barley. Over the past 6 years of listening the nine club, this one hit different. I can tell how much he appreciates him 👏 🛹

From since little kids at the Playground - Donny was always such a good and wholesome dude at his core - he made me realize that me and my MA crew were such broken criminal shitbags at our core in 92. So glad he made such a rad journey back to being a wholesome dude and inspiration. Skating mini ramps with him and the Playground Crew are still unforgettable memories. Thank God we all grew out of our broken ways and are still here skating at 50.

Yo Cory it's Jamaican Jay from Providence. Skate Hut. Haven't seen you since S.F. Peace and love. Where you at these days?

@@JasonMartin-tx5lf Yo Wiggla!! I can hear Wes saying it now. Yeah bro - the last time me and you saw each other was still the 90's SF. I live in LA - still doing graphics and art shit - for Hollywood TV and film shit now instead of gangster rappers or skaters haha. Still skating shitty mini's in the hood and beat ass parks though - since I miss crusty east coast shit. Sometimes I skate with Gagne in Orange County - he can still do pro level shredding. Where you at Ras? Bless all the way up!

@@coryshaw1975 Back in Providence. Skating the parks out here . Was just telling a friend of mine about Wes a few days ago. It's ashame how he ended up. Fuck yeah ,you still skate with Jim here and there, that's dope. You two were the tag team champs. One of the best times of my life was when I stayed out in Fitchburg, skating the post office and ripping around with you cats. And the Skate Hut days. Yeah, man I paint house out here and do some carpentry stuff. Mostly painting. I remember I heard that you were doing stuff for rappers. Dude, one of the last times I saw you I bought a plane ticket from you to come back east. I flew into Boston if I remember correctly. B4 9-11. when you could be grimy. Lol. Hopefully we will cross paths again and kill some curbs. Getting old though. Just turned 51.Still hot gas in my tank though. Transitions and curbs baby.

Donny! I was born and bred in Newport. I actually live within a 5 minute skate from you 😂😂😂. I can’t thank you enough for this beautiful park we have, and everything you’ve done for the sport and community. I had the pleasure of seeing the blueprints, a few times since you guys started. I remember feeling sooo damn proud when I saw how much you had to do with the design. It’s so much better in person. That bowl is just so perfect. The park is perfect man. Def shouts to the builders. Most of the board members are rad as hell. I hope I run into you bro. I’ve seen you out many times but for some reason I always got scared to introduce myself 😂😂😂. Again thanks Donny man! I wish people knew about all the other great things you do for the community and people. Shouts to C-Rob for hosting such a great human being on this platform. Sorry for the rant but this skatepark has been something we’ve been needing and waiting for since “Skater Island” (rip). It’s surreal when I’m there and emotions are high. Great interview btw. Thank you for being so honest.

I’m also going to add; C•Rob is right when he says a *true* 5-0 grind stays on the back truck without the tail touching. It’s a completely different trick if that tail is sliding with the grind. That’s just how I grew up and what makes the most sense. Same difference with nose grinds.

So great to see Mr. Barley doing well. Chris, I lived in LA all my life and love it but there are better places to live. I just bought a couple of acres in Mexico near Cancun and I am building a home this coming year. It's quiet, safe and I am going to build a concrete mini half pipe. A dollar goes a long way outside of LA.
