I didn’t pay too much attention to Donnie Osmond over the years, but now I find myself not only watching a lot of his recent performances, but watching and appreciating the careers and performances of the entire Osmond family. Extremely talented and personable family. I have seen some awesome shows and fun interviews on KZbin and can see how much they all love performing. Keep at it Donnie. Keep at it Marie. Keep at it Osmonds.

I have an immense amount of respect for Donny and the solid foundation he stands on. Being a 62 year old guy, I've never been a "Donny" fan. But I am a "Donny&Marie" fan; the two of them with that playful, strong, instinctive brother/sister bond, have always had unique magic together, and I've never seen a better pairing in entertainment.

I was 8 when I was first a Donny fan in 1972. As a British citizen, the Osmonds were inaccessible and untouchable and mostly invisible. I am now 57 and I loved Donny through all his ups and downs over the years. He seems like such a genuine and sincere guy. Would love to see him perform live or even better, meet him.

I met him once and observed him in line at Christmas time. Both times he was disconnected and distant. I wonder if he connects when he chooses to be on but has plenty of disconnect times. This is not a criticism. It may be draining to be on all the time and I caught him in his of moments which we all have.

Oh, Donny Osmond! - Putting your gold records away so that they wouldn't compete with your children's and grandchildren's drawings from school! That touched my heart so deeply! Such love, humility, and commitment to your family! You are a wonderful dad and grandpa! ...I had the chance to be your great niece's first grade teacher while in Sandy, Utah, during 2005-2006 school year. Her name was Ali Osmond, a cute little freckle-faced, very blonde girl who looked like I imagined your mom would have looked as a little girl. She was wonderful, just like her grandpa, Tom Osmond, and her dad, and everyone else in your family, it seems! I kept asking her mom to set up an arrangement so that my own two children and I could meet you, but I ended up moving back to OC, Calif, and never got the chance to meet you! (I guess I didn't think she really WOULD get around to setting it up!) THEN, finally, in 2015, when I begged my son to go with me on short notice to go see you and Marie in LV and asked my dad and his wife to take care of my 7 year old triplets, you were actually sick! I couldn't believe my bad luck!! I had even paid extra to have a mingle with you after the show! :( But, I still admire you, not only for your talent, but for your perseverance in sticking to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even though you've been surrounded by other opportunities and people during your entire life! I think you're just wonderful, and still hope to meet you someday! I did meet Jimmy one day at Church in 1985, when I was 20, back in the Huntington Beach singles ward, when my friend wanted to go to the back row after Sacrament meeting so that she could meet him. But, meeting him was just not the same as meeting you, somehow! Well, maybe someday! ...PS: my Mom's maiden name is Davis, too!

Donny in early 90’s, I’m thinking it may have been in 1990 performed at a venue in Portland Or call the starry night. I was supposed to go with a young women who had MS. She ended up being too sick to go to the show. He took the time to go see her at her home the next day. I just sat back in their kitchen and let them have their time, but I’ve been a fan ever since. He took at least an hour of his day to spend time with Kelsey. He’s a very kind man.

Very interesting interview. One day, I saw Donny and his wife going into the Provo Temple as I was coming out.It is great to know that with all his popularity, he is a down to earth family man. He also sat two rows in front of me at the Tuacahn theater in St. George Utah when his nephew was starring as Joseph. My daughters had pictures of him all over their bedroom walls.

Kay Muldoon ...I agree! I am a Christian and I believe he is, also. I know they have some different beliefs than I do, but...they believe, Jesus Christ, is our Savior and I do, too. Thanks for your comment, Kay!
@_nataliebeck_4 жыл бұрын
Jessi Brunson he is Mormon so he is Christian! He seems like such a genuine guy and I really admire how strong he is in his faith! I’m Catholic, but I get happy when someone is a Christian because as many people have said, “All Christians just have a different way of praising our Lord.” So I’m just glad people are Christian, but if they aren’t that’s just what they want to do and I’m okay with that as long as they’re respectful to people who do have beliefs. I honestly don’t care what other people do with their lives though...

Donny always speaks so kindly of Elvis. I've always heard of what a good person Elvis was ...and I believe Donny is a good person, also. I bet Elvis loved talking to Donny's mother ...if he got to meet her. Donny's mother kind of reminded me of Elvis' mother. Elvis knew the Osmonds were the "real deal".

My daughter only listened to Donney. She saw him first on Andy Williams show and he was so cute. She is only 3 yrs younger than Donny. I thought it was cute that she was so young and really held on to him,. and still does. She started going to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at age 12. I was opposed to that as we were all Methodists. I wouldn't let her go to Seminary and she crawled out her bedroom window and went!! Anyway at age 18 she joined the LDS Church. She was always talking to me about the Church. For YEARS!!!! Well, one day a certain Missionary came to my house. at her invitation and that did it for me. He was so young and so homesick. I balked a long time, but between him and her, my son and I joined the Church. That was 39 yrs ago. So 6 months later my other daughter did too. We are active and loving it. So not only is Donny a great entertainer, but a wonderful Missionary. Thanks Donny.

Donny is a very humble individual and is amazing that he has been able to avoid drugs and alcohol and womanizing that so many other entertainers have craved to. He doesn't preach his religion. I finally got to see Donny and Marie in Las Vegas 2 weeks ago, and just watching the two of them and the dancers, I thought "I wish I could get up there and dance with them." Have not had the opportunity to really meet Donny in person, but I did get a high five from him, and that was the highlight for me of the whole trip. 👌FABULOUS interview. But we the fans should have been asked that question not Donny. 'Cause Donny, yes, as much as you'd like to think it's Talent. Your gift. It is, or was, but he's right we the fans Def. Loved a combination of fact that we loved that you Osmond boys were the whole pkg. Your life values from being LDS...made you very attractive. To us. As fans. And you are right many people have joined the church and wanted to have what your family has. My childhood friend married a missionary. My Sis got married in the Temple...my Mother let me sell every worldly possession just to stay in Vegas during your Residency...and so many of us are better people because of you and your family...and still would catch a show of yours whenever we can...Maybe not sell everything now, but you've managed to hold onto us for a lifetime not only because of your takent...but also because we know your heart. Who you are. And are proud to take a lil' of your goodness with us, on our journies. And we thank YOU. And your family. And your beautiful patiently accepting wife, showing us how to become better women as well. The circles complete. You can't get rid of us ever now. :-) And we wouldn't want it any other way. (Not proof reading this novel...lol...hope the typos have been kept to a minimum)

@ellenw3914 жыл бұрын
I remember that. What a sad interview.But I do wonder if his perspective might have changed somewhat. In more recent years he seems to made a peace with his past. An seems far more content with his career, and life. He also seems to be truly enjoying what he is doing which I don't think was the case for many many years.Just look at the enthusiasm he had on the masked singer and of course dancing with the stars.I think he finally is getting the respect he's long deserved and has really come into his own. He may always want those missed years back, but I think he's likely made more of a peace with it. Again I'm just guessing, but seems to me he may have realized that that is what got him to where he is now,And since he's so happy now, hopefully he has made peace with it!
