I have never understood this kind of prejudice. Music is music. It has no race. Either you like it or you don't. From what I remember, which is pretty damn much, both family groups were admired by everyone, no matter the race. They were both excellent. MJ and Donnie were on the cover of Tiger Beat magazine every damn month. A lot of us had the posters from them on our walls. Along with David Cassidy (R.I.P) and Bobby Sherman. Several years ago, I started introducing my SO to Journey. Where he grew up, men/boys didn't listen to them. I grew up in the SF Bay Area. They were a local group. I tell him we just shared them with the world. ;-D He now admires them. The SF Bay Area had hit singers, musicians and groups from all sides of the bay, including The Pointer Sisters from Oakland. We even had our own music awards. Look it up. Look up Day on the Green. That was in Oakland, at the coliseum. Bill Graham was a genius at putting concerts together. People came from all over the world to them. IF they could get tickets. Usually, we (the locals) bought them up as soon as they were announced.

When I hear this song, I am transported back to 1972. I was 12 y/o and in the 6th grade. It was one of the songs played at the roller rink, where they would turn down the lights and spark up the disco ball. All us teenyboppers would find a partner and join our clammy hands while we'd glide around the rink. Pure magic.

there is no comparison between Donny Osmond and Bieber. Donny was a wonderful influence to us as kids. Bieber needs to learn whats acceptable and what isn't, Donnies still around. If Bieber doesn't watch his stiep he may end up in prison. I would rather my kids listen to Donnie anytime instead of Bieberr.

Gosh, I was a little kid when this hit rose on the charts. It was 1972, I guess I was about 8 Years old. I really didn't care too much for this when I was seeing this on TV, in the floor, putting together Tinker Toys. Around 1990, I was grown and working in the Radio Industry. Donnie came out with a Kickin Song call "Soldier Of Love" around 1989-90 I was working for an Urban/R&B Station and were told NOT to tell who was singing the song on the air. To make a long story short, it came out it was Donnie Osmond singing "Soldier Of Love" and to my surprise, it shot up on the R&B/Pop Charts. These days, I'm in my 50s, Donnie is a grandfather and Donnie hangs out with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. I saw him on the CBS Daytime Show "The Talk" when he got the news that he was going to be a grandfather again! He has lived a good life, God Bless Him!

Donny performed in Seattle this last Saturday. We got caught in a long back up on the freeway due to an accident. We were so afraid we wouldn't make it in time for the concert when it started. I told my husband that we would miss him singing Puppy Love. I just knew he would sing it first. We walked in just as the band was playing. We sat down and YES!! PUPPY LOVE! it took me back in time. Donny is a true professional, kind, and a heck of a lot of fun! It was my first time seeing him, and it was so worth it. What a great concert. Come back, Donny! ❤
