No idea why this pedal isn't a runaway success story. Kicks the ass of most reverbs around this price point. Only things I would ask for...lower power consumption, some labeling on the algorithm LEDs, MAYBE a couple more presets per mode, bigger dials and if the infinite switch worked as a freeze rather than a rapid crescendo.

When people say power consumption they usually mean current draw since most pedals operate at 9V anyways. Digital effects are power hungry, 300mA sounds reasonable for a complex algorithmic reverb imo. V(volts) = voltage. It's like how much "pressure" is in the circuit to push electricity. It's only a baseline at which a device operates. A(amperes) = current. The rate of the flow of electrons in the circuit i.e how much the device actually draws from the power source. W(watts) = power. Power equals voltage times current.

Great demo. I love this pedal. There are two things I wish it also had - control of the effect on each setting, and bass to the reverb, which is massively lacking compared with other pedals. Other than that it's a brilliant ambient machine, and the ability to recall 14 presets at the push of a button is really handy.

Thanks! The A7 has an X control which adjusts a different parameter depending on the mode. I wish R7 X2 has that as well. Input bass control is indeed very helpful especially if you want to use the reverb with bass or drums. Ventris has it and makes it really easy to use with other instruments.

Hi cut on full and lo cut off definitely helps. I hate trebly, tinny reverb so I pretty much do this wherever possible.

That is a great point I hadn’t really thought about. In Synth a low reverb adds dimensional depth!

This pedal sound very nice, it would be cool to see a comparison with an high-end reverb pedal!! But, how do you switch through the different reverb modes? With the save button?

Yes, the save button changes modes. Also pressing both footswitches engages preset select mode and footswitches can be used to go up or down while in preset select mode.

Great demo. I can’t compare directly the R7 X2 and the Hall of Fame 2 and I’m very interested in both… I think that the reverse mode is great in R7 X2, but the possibilities from the Mash and all you can get from TonePrint with the HOF2 are amazing, aren’t? Which one would you recommend more? Which one sounds “less digital”? Thanks for your fantastic demos!

Thanks! They’re both versatile. HoF 2 has more parameters available if you use the Toneprint editor and Mash is a fun thing to use. R7 X2 has great experimental modes and more straightforward. It’s been a while since I used the Hall of Fame so it’s hard for me to get into more details and compare the sounds. Checking out as much videos as you can would be the best way to go.
