Donovan - Bert's Blues (Live at the BBC, 1965)

Recorded live at the BBC's Paris Theatre Studios, London, on 24th December 1965 for radio broadcast. Host/compere is Brian Matthew. Taken from the 2CD album "Donovan Live 1965-69" (London Calling, LC2CD5033, 2019).
Photos are of early film actresses (mostly c1910-1930), all found on “Pinterest”.

That riff at the end sounded close, real close, to Rolling Stones “ fade to black”.

@ Paul Hunt. Thanks for your comment. 🙏 Appreciated. I think maybe you meant the Stones’ “Paint It Black”? The riff at the start of that does sound similar to the one at the end of this live version of Bert’s Blues, which I hadn’t noticed before. This Donovan performance was broadcast some 4-5 months before “Paint It Black” was released in May 1966, but I can’t honestly see the Stones ever wanting to “borrow” a Donovan riff, can you?

@@kenny338833 thanks, you’re right it was Paint it Black. It’s a simple variation on a D chord so it’s not at all understandable that anyone could come up with riff based on it. Maybe it was “borrowed”!
