Donovan Clingan - UConn Highlights 2024

He's currently averaging 10.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game but with his potential as a pick-and-pop threat at the next level, his draft range is anywhere from late lottery to mid-20s.
He lives in the paint and is nearly impossible to stop once he gets position down low. He does a great job on on the boards on both ends of the floor and really knows how to use his size and weight to gain position and move opponants out of the way. He has a strong base and can hold position against anybody in college ball. Clingan is always a threat on the offensive glass. He isn’t a quick leaper but uses his size well to defend the rim. Genuine question. Why is Clingan projected as a lottery - mid 1st rounder and Edey is projected as a 2nd rounder?

Runs the floor better and gets his offense in similar ways to many modern NBA bigs. Rim running and pick n roll. Can probably be plugged in right away. Edey is viewed as a lumbering old school back to basket big who is going to have to adjust his game dramatically to fit in the modern NBA if he can even keep up with it.
