Love this version of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. I bought Open Road upon its release, not knowing any of the songs, and loved it. It walked out with an ex-girlfriend in the late eighties. Six years ago I picked up a used copy in a 2nd hand music store, and it turned out to be my original copy. I'd gotten a cd copy , but I really felt the "circle" buying that lp back for $4,00. One of my favorite recordings by Donovan, one of my all-time favorite albums in general. Aged very well,

Great version of a great song Donovan is a Groovy Guru
@GlennMichaelThompson6 жыл бұрын
groovy guru Maybe he is...maybe he isn't. Well back in the 60's anyhow. Shawn Phillips collaborated as a songwriter with Donovan on many tunes. Sunshine Superman was written by S.P. yet he never received credit or compensation for it. It may have been the record industry's fault, or Donovan's. But after several decades Donovan invited Shawn to perform on stage with him a few years ago (at the Royal Albert HAll). It's still too bad ....I'm pretty sure the royalties from that single tune would have made life a little smoother for Shawn. ;-)

Wearing a printed skirt or sarong, lol 😉
@papercup25172 жыл бұрын
@@lesHanalala I had to look this up again, to see why I commented! I'm not sure I really go for the sarong theory, given that that 'print' has the exact same background colour as the surrounding ground, with a green plant growing out of the spot where his feet should be, but aren't. Instead there's shadow there where the plant is coming out of the ground, that lines up with the shadow on the ground between Mia Farrow and Donovan, and to the right of the guitar. It appears to be John's shadow, on the ground. No sarong, no Mike Love feet - as far as I can see, anyway. You could be right of course. Or he could be leaning in towards John while somehow keeping his legs off to the side, behind the Maharishi, and helping support himself on John's shoulders. There's a sort of flap that could be part of his baggy beige pants, or could be part of the Maharishi's robes... :-)

Animascat, I simply loved your comment. I am a disciple of Allan Kardec's Spiritism and Jesus is our true father and leader. Allan Kardec is the pen name of the French teacher and educator Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail (Lyon, October 3, 1804 - Paris, March 31, 1869). He is known today as the systematizer of Spiritism for which he laid the foundation with the five books of the Spiritist Codification

natural high is the best high in the world. laboratory synthetic stimuli only goes to fog up your third eye. searching for the truth in late sixties, some of my peers at the time read a book that was Tibetan mysticism, called the third eye by lobsang rhampa. astral projection and such. turned out to be very self serving and exclusive. was at the park and a very attractive girl, I admired, introduced me to the new testament. to this day i'm still blessed to believe in Jesus Christ.
@sunkhor12 жыл бұрын
Lobsang Rampa is not the person he presents himself as. He is just one of many fakes desperate for a following (and money of course)
