Take a ride, my bredren take a ride Take a ride on a prophetic land Take a ride, my bredren take a ride Try to see what you can decide If you can get with unity Don't ever trust misunity Try to see somthing that is right Then you will know, oooooh! Never let the sad things get over you Don't allow the deadly thoughts to capture you Won't you try to make a different move Just to see what you can proove Then you'll feel the touch of something new And behold, yeeaaah! Never let the sad things get over you Don't allow the deadly thoughts to capture you Won't you try to make a diffrent move Just to see what you can proove Then you'll feel the touch of something new Take a ride, my bredren take a ride Take a ride on a prophetic land Take a ride, my bredren take a ride Take a little ride, oooh yes, yeeeeaahheehe!

I interviewed Al Campbell years ago & he clearly admited this was not his song (still he enjoyed making specials of it under request), Al revoiced it for his "Studio One tribute" album a few years ago & he said it was a bredda named Alan Campbell who did sing it... I also Interviewed Johnny Osbourne and he was sure that it was a Freddy McKay tune, when I told him what Al Campbell was saying, he insisted that it was Freddie Mckay & that he even saw Freddy sing it live in his shows.. seen !
@lawrencenjawe19354 жыл бұрын
Wow I would've though all Campbell's disclosure is final, but Now Johnny Osbourne's admissions only add to the confusion. I'd really like to know the truth.

@@lawrencenjawe1935 I recently met another journalist who found back the original singer of the song that Al Campbell was talking about, just his name is not Alan but Canute Campbell, the mystery seems to be definitively solved now and the story will be told in a book about Studio One coming out soon... Stay tuned !

Greetings, we move money to musicians and their families. If you know someone who could benefit, we would love to set up an auction from our stock, all profit to them as thanks for the music! We also record stories and perspectives on life in and around the music scene. It sounds like you have a vital perspective, perhaps we could record some of your stories to bring people closer to the music and for future generations to learn from. - Blessings, Michael
