And kind Sir, yesterday; I went to one of those HIGH Cost Hearing Aid' Companies. But, he said, "If you do not buy it ($6200.00) today: it will be $14,000.00 next week"! Of course I left; like it was Yesterday! Dadgum them! And, may Jesus have mercy. For...... My age is going on 92 yrs old. And I have lost about 45% hearing; from a Hear Doctor. And I have fixed income;! So I am going to try what you are talking about. I'll let you know how it works. Amazon, refunds if we don't like it. That is good. Thank you kind Sir.

For practically the same features, Costco’s Jabra Enhance Pro 10 costs $1,599 compared to Resound One hearing aids costing twice as much. Both are made by Resound and both have the extra M&RIE microphone in the ear canal providing a surreal surround sound like spatial experience.

They are not made by resound, they are both made by GN. And the resound one have 3 different technology levels. The one 3 one 6 and the resound one 9. The costco Jabra version is the highest technology level, equivalent to the Resound One 9, the one with 17 channels.

Thanks so much for this video and others that you have posted on YT: You saved me from making a big mistake on the purchase of my next set of hearing aids. It seems like the tactics employed by a lot of hearing aid companies are much like that of used car salespeople: Obscure the facts, create some sort of pressure on the customer to make an impulse purchase, and completely forget about that "customer" after the sale (theft) has been accomplished. I will definitely follow your advice.

The issue is not primarily hearing aids you get, but you get to do the otoscopy, the ear cleaning if needed, the tympanometry and acoustic reflexes, the speech testing in quiet and noise, the tone testing, the hearing aid evaluation (during which a variety of factors are considered), the ear impressions for custom molds (if beneficial), the hearing aid fitting (which includes probe microphone measures of hearing aid performance so you and your hearing care provider precisely what is happening in your ear canal), the hearing aid orientation, and follow up care as needed. But sure. Don’t see an audiologist. Go ahead and buy OTC if you don’t want to make the best use of your hearing. By the way, many audiologists charge much less than Beltone and Miracle Ear. I’m one of them.

Thank you so much for this information! I am finally knuckling under and heading out to get hearing aids - at age 62 I've had complete nerve loss in my left ear for 44 years, and my one good ear is starting to falter, but when I put in a pair of KZ AS10- in-ears, I get a full stereo spectrum (albeit "ghosted" on the left side a bit, but the center channel does image more correctly) with the clarity of five balanced armatures in each ear - would love that in a set of hearing aids, as it mimics what I hear in a good set of monitors in the recording studio (just not sure if that much fidelity can be packed into a smaller in-canal or behind-the-ear). As I am also a musician and an audiophile, I don't want just a "hyped-up speech-only" enhancement to my hearing - I want a full frequency spectrum boost for daily normal use, and control over the frequency spectrum for special events, and programmability with the iPhone. AI and machine learning means we've arrived in the 21st century for those of us who are losing our hearing! Why not!!

Thank you for your comments! We appreciate your feedback. I would honestly recommend Philips/Oticons since you’re a musician. Not only they speech focus, but they have great programs for music. Many musicians I had done test and sold Hearing aids to, all thus far, purchased Philips/Oticons. After couple follow ups and adjustments, I haven’t seen some of them now for 6 plus months. When they do come back, it’s heating itself like receiver worn out or help changing domes & filters. He love their music programs. So far good experiences. I would check them out. Hope this helps! Have a great day!

Great tutorial on the Costco offerings. Thanks for sharing. I'm over the pond in the UK. We have a Costco where we live, and they have an audiologist on hand - of course, you need an appointment - but that, along with the decent warranty period, and excellent price, makes it a real no-brainer. My mother needs new hearing aids, and I just wanted to see what was available, as I'm told the technology has moved on some since the last set were purchased. I found your presentation very informative - particularly where you name the rebadged versions of the same products.

The OTC hearings are not Bluetooth compatible except Jabra. However, at Costco, the Jabra enhance pro, Rexton Bicore, and Philips HearLink do have Bluetooth. Polska. My hearing aids are by Phonak, not sure which model but they are premium aids. Had them for 3 years and I'm a bit disappointed with them. The battery life has deteriorated significantly, they now last for only 10 to 12 hours depending on how much Bluetooth streaming I do - usually quite a bit. The LEDs on one have quit working so I have no idea if it is charged or not, just have to assume it is. I think I am going to go to Costco for my next pair. I am currently renting them and paying about 3.5 times as much as the Costco price for no particular benefit. I think I am going back to batteries for my next set, not rechargeable. With rechargeable you are basically dead in the water when the charge runs out, with batteries you just change them and you are good to go. Plus you don't have to lug the charger and cable around when travelling (not that onerous.) The downside of batteries is extra cost and disposal, but I think the convenience outweighs that.
