I grew up in one of the worst projects in Atlanta! I'm so thankful now to overcome hardship and life challenges at a young age. At the age of 42, I've been in my home for 12 years & it's behind the new Tyler Perry Studios. Thank God because the projects built character, and motivation to want more for my kids. I broke the generational curse of low income and homelessness in my family. We had the best looking apartment in our projects and it was clean with bugs & rodents. My mom took pride in her home despite of her hardships. She also inspired her kids to get an education and to want more out of life.❤❤❤❤❤❤

What he is showing are projects. Projects and affordable housing inter changeable . The term project actually came from us government. The government coined the phrase for deals they backed specifically for affordable housing. They would label each real estate deal as project and assign a numerical number. Over time people just started calling the deals projects instead of affordable housing. Bottom line they are synonymous. It's a government back deal traded on wall street

These ARE NOT projects. And people need to stop glorifying living in the projects as well. Just like it's a difference between section 8 & "affordable housing," it's also a difference in "affordable housing" and the projects. I've lived in low income housing before, and I've also lived in the projects. They're different. A PROJECT WILL NEVER look like the apartment you're living in. And the reason why I mentioned people "glorifying" project living is because I've been seeing a lot of people doing tours of their residences and have been calling them PROJECTS and it's a flat out lie. Over half of them DO NOT live in a project and think just because it's low income or affordable housing, it's a project. But that's a lie. When you sign up for a project, you have to go to the HOUSING AUTHORITY, so even the process of getting a project is different than the process of low income housing.

Hey! You have a new subscriber! This is my first time watching your channel. I love your apartment. It's really nice! You're right about the difference between section 8 and low income housing. I have section 8 and live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath townhome. My rent is based on my income. Housing authority pays most of it and I pay a snall portion of the rent. But I can move to another state if i wanted to and take my section 8 with me. Affordable housing is based off of your income but when you move out, you will pay whatever the amount of the rent is in your new place. Unless you move to another affordable housing complex. I think it is a blessing to qualify for section 8 or afordable housing because with both if your income changes, your rent will go down. As long as you report it. You must report any changes to your income situation. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Love, peace, and hair grease!

I am a former apartment manager in Michigan and Florida for Section 8 and low income housing, part of the reason, these units are in great shape is because the property will loose its funding if HUD finds there are violations. Unfortunately another reason its hard for Brown and Black families to get in , the Rental History has to beon point and no criminal history. The greatest thing about these units is what Dontay says, the rent adjustment will help you if you're employment challenged or your a Student. Great Vlog , Dontay❤
