As someone who relates personally to this story I hate how this story line was done. It had so much potential at the start to be something captivating and realistic but has been lead astray completely.

I feel like Hollyoaks viewers are not understanding this issue properly... The soap has clearly made this episode with the best intentions, to highlight the increasing population of group self-harming. Rather than just making it all about one person, otherwise it would just be a repeated storyline that's been played out before. Yes, this was immensely disturbing and difficult to watch, but that means Hollyoaks are doing their job, they are getting people to talk about social issues which are always hidden, especially in young people. This storyline certainly hasn't finished yet... but when it has, I'm sure that all the fans will understand why all this has happened and that it can self-harm between people, can increase a lot more than you realise.

I loved the storyline because even after Peri and yas stopped Lily couldn't which is a great portrayal of how addicting it is. Peri and Yas remind me of those groups of people that self harmed because it was a sort of trend a few years ago and they wanted to fit in, but those that did it then, only did it a few times and then stopped, just like Peri and Yas. Most didn't get addicted but some did because like Lily it brought relief to them

To the people saying this is unrealistic, I’ve seen people in this sort of cult of self-harming and it is a problem that I’m glad Hollyoaks are exploring. People are peer-pressured into self-harming sadly, and Hollyoaks are not encouraging us viewers to do it as well, they’re trying to display this problem in our society and prevent it from happening. I applaud Hollyoaks for tackling such a sensitive topic.

I remember watching this episode when it first aired...they had such a good storyline going but then they fucked it up with this episode. I found it extremely hard to watch because why would you encourage someone to do it? Nobody does that. I was very disappointed with Hollyoaks when this came out. I'm not lying when I say this but after I watched this episode, I self-harmed. It triggered me. The girls talking about it and encouraging Yas to do it, Lili's speech (which I relate to) and Peri's insensitivity caused me to self-harm.
