The inverse is defined only for non-singular square matrices. The following relationship holds between a matrix and its inverse: AA^-1 = A^-1A = I, where I is the identity matrix. ✅To learn more about, Matrices, enroll in our full course now: infinitylearn.com/cbse-fullcourse?KZbin&DME&HYWeEx21WWw To watch more videos related to Matrices, click here: bit.ly/Matrices_DMYT

In that case what does it mean when you are given an expression and asked to give your answer as a single matrix? Do you have to get the determinant after you solve the matrix?

Why do we sometimes have to get the multiplicative inverse of a matrix? Because matrices could be only added, subtracted, or multiplied, but not divided. To divide A/B, one has to get the inverse of B first then multiplies A by the inverse of B.
