@Paul Maloy - I agree! Teaching the OT in seminary was a bit of a challenge for me. These two are such a blessing! So many of their insights bring the Spirit to my heart & testify of that truth, but then I’m taught something even more personal that I need to know right now. I love how when I’m open & ready, the Spirit meets me where I’m at, & gives me even more than I knew I needed. Hope you’re happy & thriving in your new adventures!

Deuteronomy now equals "the book of tears". Sometimes, our purpose is to journey through the desert faithfully so that others can eventually cross over and receive the promise.

When David said, we don't know why anyone is chosen...I started thinking that, we know why Abraham was chosen...he WANTED to be. He had desire to learn and become wise. He was blessed and his descendants were blessed because he desired it. In D&C 4 it says, "if ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work." So, if we want to follow Him and we have the desire to be His disciple, He chooses us. None of that being left on the sidelines in gym class because you stink at basketball and neither team wants to pick you. He will pick anyone who wants to play!

Moses mission was not complete, he was taken up so that he would have a body, there are continuing needs for Those That Tarry. Each dispensation has its place, and the baton/keys needs to be passed to keep moving forward.(Deut 34 footnote 6c) (Translated Beings)It is wonderful to watch your presentations it is a special part of our morning, like seminary to start the day with a spiritual note, thank you so much for what you do.

Our "Spiritual Memory." That resonated with me! Not just spiritual experiences, but that our Spirits have a memory even when our mortal brains have been blocked from them (pre-mortal life) or forgotten them, or our hearts have purposely dimmed them. I love the wisdom of magnifying our experiences with God's hand in our lives. Side note, love how David's journal said he would never forget and he did. 😄 He cracks me up in EVERY video! Wish we could be friends! 😁 Thank you both! You help me so much every week!!!

I'm a week behind my studies because I had COVID and simply could not focus on reading or even watching anything. I almost did not go back to the studies I'd missed, but I am so glad that I did. I think you have enlightened me to the greatness of the book of Deuteronomy that I had never before realized. I have been grieving for my dearest friend who passed away last December from this horrible virus, but today as I watched this video and read along with you, many thoughts pierced my heart about my friend. I am now at peace with her passing because I realize that she had finished her work here and is now giving her love and sharing her faith beyond the veil, just as Moses had finished his work and was taken beyond the veil. Thank you for reminding us to remember, obey, beware, teach and rejoice. I truly needed to hear that. Love your videos.

A year ago we had A family home evening with our adult children and grandchildren and we talked about Matthew chapter 7 verses 13 and 14 that talk about straight is the gate and narrow is the way and few there be that find it. We also talked about together as a family we can be strong so we can become one of the few. We made them wristbands that say Roper Strong on one side indicating our family and one of the few on the other side. I love so much that you brought that point across in your message today. Thank you so much for all you do.🙂

Emily, my husband served in Croatia as well! When I met him after his mission and he told me where he had served, I didn’t believe it was a real place because I had never heard of it! He still speaks fluent Croatian (there is even a delicious restaurant in Salt Lake City we love to go to!) and has had the chance to go back to some of the surrounding countries and do some humanitarian work with the church and use the language he learned on his mission. So cool that your son went there too… great things are still happening in Croatia!!

God chooses those who choose Him. We have to choose Him first to qualify to be chosen by Him to fulfill the covenants and commandments He has set forth. Even just asking that question ’how do I know if I’m chosen?’ puts you on the path to BE chosen.

Thanks, again for providing another eye- (and heart-) opening lesson! After Psalms (the Savior's "hymnbook"), Jesus quoted from Deuteronomy more than any other OT scripture. The Prophet Joseph Smith, like Moses, spoke with the Lord face to face and was also not able to see the Saints' Promised Land, except in vision. Brigham Young, the Latter-day Joshua, led the Saints to their place of safety.

That is a challenge, to be sure. But remember Rahab - the Lord knows where each of us is, & will allow us to choose our path. But we are never lost to Him. As much as your friend helped you, it is upon Jesus Christ that our foundation must be built. Like was talked about in the lesson, write down what the Lord has done in your life, so you can look back & remember. And choose to serve the Lord.

My husband left me and my two boys several years back. I often look back on our experiences as "wandering through the wilderness". It has been hard, lonely, and full of trials, and I have often feel forgotten. In January of this year, my married daughter ended up in the hospital with symptoms that has taken us on a wild ride. At the time, my two boys and I had been living in Arkansas, but we came to Utah to be with my daughter while she was to begin a long road of discovery of what was happening to her body. This hard, has brought me out of the wilderness and placed me in the promised land. To be in a place where temples abound has been such a place of peace. I pray, that I will never take being near a temple for granted for I have truly been in the wilderness and I desire to be in the land of promise.
