And yes it is basically Lucy's adventure as a newbie mage, and you will see her adventure and get ready to see her development. I would not say weak but inexperienced, she never used magic before and never joined any battle, but she is highly talented. So it is either a duo of main characters, or she is the main character but Natsu is the plot device.

About the ages of characters seen so far: --- Lucy, Natsu and Grey are all supposed to be 17 years old. --- Mirajane is supposed to be at least two years older than these three. --- Cana might be slightly older than Mirajane. (I think at most a year.) --- Romeo might be 6 years old.

Not quite. Gray is 18 actually and Natsu's age is unlisted for certain reasons, though most people put him as the same age as Gray. Cana is younger than Mira not older. As far as the start of the series goes (so where Don obviously is)... 6 - Romeo, Happy 12 - You know who, in about fifty episodes time. 17 - Lucy, Levy, Juvia, Laki, Max (from memory)... A certain other character starting with L, y'all know who. 18 - Gray, Cana, Elfman, Bisca. Apparently Jet and Droy as well. 19 - Mira and Erza. 20 - Evergreen, (irrelevant character Chico C Hammit) And possibly Freed (he is 20 or 21) 22 - Bixlow 23 - Laxus, Warren Listed as Unknown - Natsu and Gajeel. Oh, I think Lyon is 19, can't be sure. These are the ones I remember. Another of the irrelevant background guild members was 16 I believe, Tono maybe, but, irrelevant background character... The dub isn't terrible like some others, but in my opinion the sub for Fairy Tail is unmatched, especially when it comes to emotional moments (which are pretty often 😂) and it really gets the tears going. The cast has some of the best voices across anime If you're up for it, an ending reaction would be pretty cool! Fairy Tail endings are underrated imo

The dub voice and how she speaks makes her sound like a refined mature noble lady. That is not her real personality at all. She is very childish in the sub and manga.

@@stevenviljoen160 Which is basically exactly what I'm saying: I prefer the mature and lady-like depiction of Juvia over the more childish version. Not only does it make the humor of her obsessive aspects funnier since it's such a stark contrast to her standard personality, it also brings more credence to her serious moments like in 413 days, and it makes the dynamic she has with Gray much more appealing. (There's a reason why she stops the whole 3rd person thing at the end of the series: it symbolises her growing up so they can actually be a couple. The dub just makes that part happen 13 arcs earlier, which I approve of, since it helps make it clear the real sticking stone is Gray not wanting a romantic connection, which has a much more gradual change over the series.)

Ask yourself do you want to watch fairy tail from the eyes of the author or the eyes of dubbers? As someone who knows someone in the dubbing business, 30% of the dialogues will be changed to gain more individuality and be kind of unique or they will just be a copy. Not only that changing languages will cause some features to be lost. It is a must, every language is different and contains different messages you can't help it, like here Lucy is just rude and unfriendly, in the sub, she appears annoyed by Natsu's recklessness and happy's comments but still welcoming and kind to them. This Lucy just loves calling others names which is weird to me even tho I forgot fairy tail but I do remember that Lucy was not that aggressive with others! In the end, it is your choice to see from which POV.

The problem with this 1. Things are already lost in translation into sub, 2. then there things not easily translate in language this why in Dub some of the words are change to get the most similar "emotion" to what the original author wanted... in Sub your getting closer to direct words yes but that also means more of emotion can be lost... because the saying or refence doesn't translate to another culture. 3. For some It's difficult read and watch, this why some people completely avoid sub, it's even more tricky for some to 1 read, 2 watch and 3 watch a reaction at the same time....... In fact this why some biggest Anime reactors like Blind wave, norimies watch a lot of Dub.... This can even effect the reactors because they it's putting more attention to reading it can curves there reaction to some times being flatter.

There's 328 episodes for fairy tail available in both sub and dub in full. I honestly prefer it in the DUB, but im more used to hearing it in dub Doesn't matter to me much tbh.The plot does get mentioned in small pieces every now and then, but you may have to wait like 60+ episodes (or however long it is) before it starts coming more together, but will say keep listening to the information of the dragons and remember the name zeref in the future.

HAHAHA I laughed so much watching your reaction to the fighting 😂 Chaotic and full of heart is definitely the way to describe Fairy Tail, both as a guild and a show 😊 Don't worry about learning all the names up front-a lot of the background characters will get incorporated more into the story over time, so it actually feels very natural to learn who everyone is! And yes, the celestial spirits are all based on constellations! The 12 golden gate keys are based on the zodiac signs, so they’re the rarest and strongest. And omg you don’t even know-the music for this show is LEGENDARY. Just wait until you hear Erza’s theme song. Glad you’re enjoying the show so far! The first couple episodes are definitely more about comedy and world-building, but the plots will intensify soon enough 😈 When Erza shows up, you know it's gonna start getting serious. And Lucy is essentially the narrator! Most of the show is told from her perspective and we occasionally get voiceovers, but Natsu is probably the main character. Sorry, but I still hate the dub 😂 the voices are SO grating, especially Happy and Lucy’s, so if you decide to keep watching in dub then have fun!!! It’s a fantastic show, truly, but I probably won’t keep up with the reactions

@@animebuddy12 strongly disagree. I can't really enjoy an anime when I have to keep pausing something or even going back a few seconds to read something. I want to be able to just listen and understand the conversation on screen and actually watch whatever is happening. Otherwise what's the point of watching a tv show when at that point it's basically become a manga? There are a lot of reactors that I've also noticed missed somethings because they were reading and missed the event, watching the event and missed what was said or something along those lines.

@@sargentrowell81 you must not realise that the reactors aren’t constantly looking at the screen, they are sometimes checking to see if the recording is still on and if everything is okay, also true there are moments, but rare when it is a little too fast but it is absurd to consider a tv show where you have to read the subtitles to be like manga where it is only pictures and writing, and i am sure 99% of people watching anime or movies with subtitles don’t have this problem unless they are slow readers

So Celestial Spirits are based on real world constellations. Golden ones being based on Zodiac constellations. Those are constellations Sun travels through, over the span of a whole year (as Earth and solar system traverse the space and turn around each other). Golden keys specifically focus on ancient Zodiac that has 12 signs and originates from Babylon and Greece. Modern Zodiac has one more sign - as the sky "changed" (moved) over the years. Aside zodiac obviously there are other constellations. Canis Minor - which is the constellation Plue is from is a real constellations and means a smaller dog. That's why she calls him a dog, even if it is a monster-snowman-dog hybrid. It's usually the case for all spirits to be more quirky than just being the sign they are based on - kinda like Tauros is a horny cow humanoid, instead of actual bull. Lucy has 6 keys at the moment. Taurus (bull), Aquarius (water bearer) and Cancer (cancer) are part of the Zodiac. Crux (southern cross), Horologium (clock) and Lyra (lyre) are different constellations made through years usually by astronomers. Plue is her seventh spirit and comes from Canis Minor (lesser dog). Also Jewels look to be similar rate as Japanese Yen (1$~140¥). For the apartment Lucy has a price of 70 Yen wouldn't be unusual (in Japan places like that often range between 50k to 70k). Especially as it is in the middle of the city. It is also fun to point out that Ishgar (continent) and Fiore (country/monarchy) that this story takes place is majorly influenced by Europe, so the price for such apartment would also be on higher end (70k is the higher part of the prices I pointed out before).

Celestial keys are all star constellations. Just silver keys are the basic? constellations? The most common in my area are mama bear and baby bear(at least thats how itd translated.), for example. The dub is great, especially for the emotional scenes in the future. The first few arcs are more about introducing important characters and showing the backstory of the main cast of characters, after all that good stuff is established the bigger plot starts getting weaved in.

Please do sub not dub, because dub changes the dialogues, and they remove a lot of the characters' inner thoughts, feelings, opinions and real motives. Like I have watched a scene where they talked about something, and I can tell it was narrated from the opinion of the one who dubbed it, because the character in action NEVER and I mean it NEVER got that pov! Even the emotion maybe at the beginning dub was better for some! But when we reach the last arcs they really destroy everything, like a character will be in a stage of despair and crying her eyes out in sub but in dub, she will be just talking. I know one of the best moments of fairy tail for those who have watched it, it is when you have to break something to bring something you know what I mean, the sub was outstanding but the dub was nothing but 💩, to be honest, even during this I find dub Lucy to be quite obnoxious she is not the person who enjoys insulting. Watching it with the real language is the best because changing the language is changing the whole message! And it is a Japanese show, so it is respectful for me to watch the anime as they wanted to present it. Like I would not mind it, if they stuck to representing what the author wanted to represent, and what the characters really think about, but adding your own false opinion in the anime, creates a false image of the character? That is a no for me. I have seen both dub and sub, I loved a character and viewed her positively in the sub, but negatively in the dub. So I don't want you to have a false experience, but in the end, you are free to do whatever you want.

it’s preference my boy, as long as the translation is atleast somewhat accurate (as most are and as they should be), then there is nothing wrong with watching dub, there are many dubs better than subs and sometimes they can’t even be compared n vice versa.

And I don't think my comment is pointing a gun or holding a sword it's just words, he can watch whatever he wants, but he asked for an opinion and I answered. And no dubbing is not about translating accurately, it is about the accurate translation of the emotions, goals, characteristics, opinions and motives of characters and bringing back the main idea of the content. And this is not what fairy tail dubbers are doing, they are basically adding or creating new characteristics for the characters. Why do people hate dubs? Because they can't find the same characters they saw in the subbed anime. They can't have the same original feelings or dialogue as the character. When Aquarius was telling Lucy to break the key, in dubs she was telling Lucy how Natsu is not coming to save her. Even tho in manga or anime Aqua got no relationship with Natsu and doesn't know about Natsu saving Lucy, which shows that Aquarius asked Lucy to break the key just to protect herself. While in sub-Aquarius was telling Lucy that she got the power to save people now, not only protect herself, she pushed Lucy to grow up and develop herself telling Lucy that she has nothing to regret and she has to do everything to save others because this is her power as a celestial wizard. Because Aquarius Knows who Lucy is, she knows what will Lucy go through and what she is capable of, not just that "Natsu is not coming" which is clearly coming from someone's negative point of view of Lucy. Even when she broke that key in dub aqua was: I really hate this girl. In sub: I thought I hated this girl. Dub Aqua was sure she hates Lucy. but Sub Aqua doubted it at the last moment. Even with her and Lucy's flashback she just did not care about Lucy's loneliness and Lucy was just sorry because she made her mad. But in the sub Aqua was suggesting for Lucy to play with kids and when Lucy told her she got none she was kind of pitting her and Lucy told her her real feelings that just her coming is making her happy even if she was mad at her. Not "I seem to make you mad, sorry". This is what dubbing causes, this is not just preference at the end I don't care about what you will watch, I just advised you as a literal critic, and a linguist I personally won't watch anything out of its original language as a respect for those who worked hard to convey a message, because it is impossible to dub something without messing with the original message. If you are so eager to watch an animation in the English language I am sure the titans, marvel heros and the Simpsons are doing great! In the end, I don't really care, I just care about how the inner thought of characters is represented accurately without the need to follow the same dialogue. I watched dubbed Arabic HXH of the 90s and I rewatched it again in Japanese it was a different dialogue yet the same images and inner conflicts and goals were represented accurately!

personally, I prefer watching in sub, You can feel the emotions of the characters better, also the dialogue changes in dub and I feel like it loses its original meaning and value. but that's just my opinion, you can watch the series however you like.

I prefer the dub, it just feels more wholesome to me, plus it will probably be easier to follow for you as a reactor so that you can pay attention to the visuals rather than reading everything - I've never understood how reactors can do that when watching something for the first time. Maybe it's just me.

Subs are better for reactions because they have to lower the volume for copyright reasons. Having the subs below is very handy so the audience can follow along. Still Fairy tail has one of the best dubs in anime. If only they didn't change Juvias unique way of speaking in the dub it would have been perfect

I dislike when dubs change the actual personality of characters. In FT It's just Juvia so I can get past it but it has ruined some shows for me like DXD where the dub changes almost all of the casts main personalities.

I agree that the dub is better. The lack of dub reactions to FT on KZbin is dissapointing. When i was first watching it many years ago, i started the first 50 episodes in dub (that's as far as it was at at the time), i decided to continue in sub like i did with all other long running anime and i couldn't do it. I just liked the dub too much. So i just decided to wait when them to release another set of dubbed episodes, and then kept going like that till i stopped enjoying the show

In FT its just Juvia so I can ignore it but I hate when shows change characters personalities in the dun. It ruined entire dub shows for me like DxD where the entire casts personalities are changed.

After losing interest in the anime i started reading to manga partly just to see when her a Gray finally get together and any changes between them were neglegable. Dub Juvia is still Juvia. The 3rd person thing really isn't as integral to her character as you think. If you consider that to be such an important, unchangeable part of her charcater then you oversimplified her

The DxD dub is far superior to the sub imo. It's way funnier, way more explicit and witty with the dialogue, and Issei is much more of a chad. Sub Issei is as generic a harem anime protagonist as they come. Talks big but wimps out when it matters most with the girls. Let's be honest, most people that prefer Dub is because you guys got used to dub Fat, because you watched like that. So the Japanese VA prob sounds off for you guys. Don't get me wrong FT has a good dub, because in comparison most dun ain't that good tbh, but it CANT be compare to the OG VA. VA industry in Japan is centered around Anime, they have great VA in Japan. In the west the best VA work for Hollywood not for anime. The FT Dub actors are good, but they are not better than the Japanese ones objectively.
