So if some of you in the comments section are considering buying a heavily modded car, here’s my advice. If you are inexperienced with cars, DON’T. I’ve seen it time and time again where people will buy a car like this, and it overwhelms them very quickly. Just buy a factory bone stock car and start with a blank canvas. Learn as you go! It becomes your car, you start to get a “feel” for that car. You’ll recognize when something is wrong. When a car is this heavily modified from the get go, and you don’t know what’s going on you’ll drive it into the ground without realizing
@SamDaMan-ov6hl4 жыл бұрын
I see your pov, but for some people, there's no other way to learn, I'll respectfully agree and disagree with you

I would agree but if I found a cheap treno I would not pass that offer even if it was heavily modified
@PizzaParkersGarage4 жыл бұрын
So just to clarify, if it’s something small like a car with some coilovers and exhaust, sure that’s fine. A newbie isn’t going to struggle anymore with that than a factory car. But if we’re talking something with a fancy engine swap/a car with some stuff that’s been custom wired etc etc, I’d say that’s a bit much for a newbie to get into. It pains me to see people I know who made that mistake and now they have cars sitting in their driveway for over a year because they can’t tackle something like that
@rhubarbpie20274 жыл бұрын

Ok, so neither person is technically wrong. Animé is a type of cartoon, but when you call animé a cartoon, you make it sound as though grown adults are watching animation intended for children and only children. You can be a fan of animé, you can be a fan of American animation (even if it’s done by a Japanese studio), but somehow, when you start calling animation “cartoons,” well, you’re not watching Initial D, you’re watching Wacky Racers, even though you’re an adult and need to grow up! It’s like they’re not “toys,” they’re “collectibles.”

I made that big leap on a project car and made it even more so a leap as it being my daily on an 88 suzuki samurai. Ive pulled 52 feet and 10 inches of useless wire, deleted the entire R22 AC system, breather to the intake & valve cover, oil pan leak fix, throw out bearing fix, tore out rubber cemented in carpet & epoxy painted the interior, installed a bluetooth reciever & speakers, multiple gauges, EGR delete, LED headlight upgrade, wiper brace armor, and so much more to come and Ive never been happier with a purchase that Ive made 2 years and some change ago. This lil thing turns heads and rips and theres always something more I want to add onto it, hell might even twin charge it after all the engine upgrades.

Currently running 250hp wet nos setup. Done everything except for bore,hone of block and machining of the head and block to take 14.3mm studs and decking it smooth. Done everything right down to adding in a front diff to take a me1616 electric motor. Many hours of enjoyment, many hours of listening to my wife....

Love the content, the last dozen videos have been gold! Although honestly, I wouldn't put my life solely in the hands of the jack stands. I usually try to leave the floor jack up to the chassis in case of an accident of failure of equipment. Let the car down on the stands, and then bring floor jack up to chassis height. Might save your life

When you find that gem you've been wanting and waiting and waiting and wanting forever... the first POS that pops up in your price range is pure gold no matter its issues. There is a reason is called a project car... Like you're not gonna dive in and project it to hell or perfection. ---Just my two cents.
@FurryKeidran984 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. There's certain things I can pass off until I find a good deal, but when I REALLY want something I will get it and disregard all the problems. It's how I ended up buying my WRX and taking the engine and trans out at my uncles house, then driving 15 hours back home with a leaking turbo and exposed fender well air intake. That will be a drive I tell my grandkids about haha.

I have a few project motorcycles under my belt (mostly motorcycles), and even if you get the bike complete AND for free you end spending a lot of money. Just as an example, got a 99 Kawasaki zx7r complete all original fairiings, 22k miles, very good shape overall, been sat in a covered garage for 5 + years for 400 dollars, yet, spent so much money bringing her back (misc many parts, carbs rebuilt with OEM parts, new brakes with upgrades, new tires, and the list goes on). Ended up spending more than a good used one on the market (even though they're kinda rare to find these days). But I do it because it's a hobby, I know economically speaking it's cheaper to get the vehicle you want in mint shape even if you're paying a premium price.

I find it's always worth replacing the timing belt on a car you've just bought unless it comes with a receipt for one put on, and you can see it's clearly new.
