When it comes to metal especially deathcore the more you listen to it the more you'll be able to understand the crazy distorted vocals I can pick up a little bit of what Alex says but not all of it and I'd LOVE to see you do a reaction to Whitechapel Also side note you said "How is this healthy for your voice" so people have different vocal folds to make noises with your true vocal folds is what you talk and do clean singing with what deathcore vocalists do for those crazy low distorted vocals is they use what's called the false vocal folds by using these it does not damage your voice and everyone has them and they are essentially the same in everyone which is why even females can get those really low screams even though they do not have testosterone but I digress if you want to hear a female metal vocalist look up Spiritbox or Jinjer

But a little training you will be able to di some crazy sounds. If you try, just do it safe, and if you feel pain or struggle or ... just stop, you di it wrong :) . One more time I like the way you are interested and discover the metal scene. (sry if my English is not perfect, not native tongue)

"What the hell was that?" That was a "blegh" We live for the "blegh". Yes...we know what he's saying, especially those of us who were around for the rise of the Death Metal scene out of Florida in the mid to late 80s .You develope an ear for it, and it becomes easier to hear what is said over time. He's not using his voice. He's using false folds/ vocal chords, not his actual vocal chords. This type of vocals takes a lot of practice and you could hurt yourself badly without proper training and practice. Saw Slaughter To Prevail live twice. He does that with no mic...and it hits the back of the arena. The drummer is Evgeny Novikov....one of the best in the business. Definitely check out his play throughs...even the ones from his former band Katalepsy. He has many play throughs posted on his KZbin channel

I'll tell you what. Vocals like this aren't meant to be understood or picked up just from listening. From my opinion, these vocals are an instrument that meshes with all the other instruments from the band. And everything just works so well. I've been a metalhead since i was a kid back in the 80's. I have learned to love this style. It's a bit dark at first, but it'll grow on you and will get to the point where it's all you will want to hear. Well for me that is. Great reaction dude. STP havent been around for that long but they are already legends in my eyes. One last thing that i had to edit. You have to love the BLEGH!!!!!!! Every now and then i love a good blegh. Especially before/after a heavy breakdown or drum fill. Long live the BLEGH!!!!
@davidlegnon96965 ай бұрын
I'll also tell you what. When you sit down and read these kinds of vocals you typically see a lot of masterfully written poetry. It makes you understand that these songs are more than just unbridled energy and blast beats. It is that too, though. 😂

@twohorsesinamancostume76068 ай бұрын
With metal it's best to think of the vocalist as another instrument. You can't understand them but we're more interested in the absolutely insane technical skill and power it takes to produce vocals like this. There's songs I've listened to for years but I still have no idea what the actual song is about and I doubt I'll ever pick up the lyrics from listening to them. If you really want to know what they're saying your best bet is to look up the lyrics online. But be warned, some bands are writing absolute poetry, others are writing the most horrendous crap possible and some are trolling to make fun of the bands writing horrendous crap.

Metal guitars and drums are just on another level from other popular genres. There’s no chorus or the same Melodie’s playing the entire song, it’s always changing with solos and breakdowns. The biggest thing that puts people off metal are the screaming vocals. The main thing to understand, in metal, is to think of the vocals as it’s own instrument. Even if you can’t understand it all, that’s fine bc their voice is truly another instrument. Screaming is not easy at all. It’s awesome you’re expanding your horizons. There’s nothing like a good metal live show

Love your reactions, man! I've got a band you should DEFINITELY check out. How do you feel about listening to goblin metal? Nekrogoblikon is my favorite band, and for years they've had a goblin mascot, John Goblikon, who basically acted as their hype man. He's even got his own talk show! They're melodic death metal, so not generally as brutal as the deathcore of Lorna Shore or Slaughter to Prevail, and their music revolves around goblins. They recently announced that their lead singer was leaving the band, and to replace him they've brought in Dickie Allen of Infant Annihilator for the harsh vocals (and Dickie is another MASTER at this), and John Goblikon now sings the clean vocals! They haven't released any new music with this lineup yet, but I saw them on tour last summer with Dickie and John doing vocals and they rocked. For a good idea of who they are currently, I'd check out their video for Bones, off their most recent album. kzbin.info/www/bejne/on-3lqajm9Smpq8si=I76ToNV4GfiXOMJh
