I didn't figure out a reliable way to dodge Umbral Strikes, the two homing fireballs, until I was doing the Bahamut fight as Yuffie. But Bahamut leads you in his aim of the fireballs a little, so if you are at mid range or more, and the cast time is slow enough that you have time to back up to mid range, you can run left, then dodge roll right and the first fireball will miss because he lead you a little to the left, then while you're rolling to the right he leads you to the right with the 2nd fireball, so you roll to the left and you'll dodge it. It might have also worked from just standing still, can't remember, but dodging in the same direction you're running will frequently fail. I know you can also interrupt his energy absorption during the countdown, which will pressure him and help with staggering, but I never figured out a reliable way to do it. It's probably a lot easier to do with 3 characters and might not be possible solo, not sure if it's based on raw damage or based on the stagger-build of the attacks you hit him with during that state. I tended to notice it happening when I did -ga level spells with 3 characters, but it wasn't consistent. Interrupting might also prevent him creating or enhancing the aura around him that damages you over time.

I was able to solo him through multiple trial and errors. I figured out that you can pressure him by using a braver after doing a punisher combo, with the berserk buff. Parry materia was really useful for the umbral strikes, since I was able to dodge most of it, but for the times that didn't atleast I wasn't knocked down. And since he got staggered multiple times, I had ascension prepared for when he dive bombs. Beating him solo was so satisfying.

I use Tifa with parry materia. Way easier to dodge

There’s an easy way to dodge the strikes. Run away from him in Operator mode, then when he throws the first one, press the attack button to zoom straight to him. Both miss

My man goes through all that, gets the summon, and then uses it on airbuster but doesn'tget him to do one attack 😂

Do you want some tips for the battle? If yes, keep reading Forget manawall and all that, maxed-level magic stuns Bahamut, like Tundaga, Firaga etc. So use Aerith ability to cast two magic at once and bombard him with tundaga. Then, when Bahamut do the charge, don't run away, attack him with magic and Braver(cloud) for triggering the stagger. The first charge is the weakest, so you just need Cloud's braver plus Tifa's Diver cick, for next charges you need to cast one magic and braver(if i remember correctly), Tifa's unbridled strenght is also very helpful. Repeat this on loop and Bahamut will never get to the point of using Megafusion. Now is up to you, find a strategy for casting magic continuosly (ATB assist materia is very helpful) and you'll be fine

I love how he wastes his ATB 70% of the time in a cycle of healing/chakra/Manawall. Like if ur trying to figure out how to stagger him just go all out attack for once lol.

The attacks are too strong if he just focuses on the attack the thing would kill him

@@Ahmed-og2jm I would use a weapon with good block percentage, counterstance, steadfast block, parry, deadly dodge, and an armor with high magic defense.

Right! Max is a defensive player, always focused on healing and protecting. Pressure is based on damage accumulation, especially in a short bit of time, then hit him with focused attacks and you should be able to stagger him before the countdown ends. Also it kills me he won’t use the stronger magic. The ga spells will stun him so Bahamut won’t finish attacks like frenzy or strikes
