Doodle On Tour Botanical Gelli Prints Part 1

I’ve had several requests to show how to use the negative print pulls from my gelli printing sessions. Here we explore possibilities with watercolors, posca paint pens and a little imagination to create beautiful one of a kind art pages.

This is a great video and you did a marvelous job in using this print. The doodling or embellishments you put on each leaf is something a lot of people really enjoy doing. This kind of work has been highlighted in another group that I follow. Your video does a great job of highlighting that and giving examples. This would also make a wonderful example of a possible theme for a swap. Thank you for sharing this.

Yay! Another awesome idea from Randi! What a treat to wake up to this morning!! I have been learning watercolor for the past three years and I certainly encourage everyone to try it! I always said that I couldn’t draw a stick figure but have actually been fairly successful with my watercolor journey (and that’s also in spite of the fact that I have essential tremor)… I just encourage everyone to try as they might be surprised. You, Randi, have such a gift for choosing colors and also new and unique ideas! Wonderful! I do caution about using paint that is less than artist quality, because I left a piece that I had done with some “specialty made” paints on a window ledge for a few months and it faded quite badly! I would just hate for your beautiful masterpieces to lose their vibrancy! Thank you for your brilliant inspiration!! Beautiful!! I can’t wait to see what you do with these beauties!💕

Thank you Donna! I would love to see some of your watercolors! I bet they are beautiful!!!! As you know I am a huge fan of using what you have so I don’t want my paints to go to waste (even if they aren’t professional) just because everyone cant go buy the more expensive items but also because I bought these before I had any knowledge 🤣🤣🤣 But…I also absolutely value the quality of the professional products. These will probably not be used as hanging art so hopefully they will okay for what I will use them for. Whenever I decide that. So good to hear from you!!!! Wonderful!! I don’t, I don’t think it would work on the gelli plate. I could be completely wrong, but I have never tried it.

@@DreamyBohemian I just tried it on some water colour paper and it qorked quite well. I used a cheaper water colour paper without a lot of texture.

These are leftovers from my gelli printing sessions using just plain ol’ copy paper. I’m just having fun with a little idea I had to not waste these pulls. 💕
