The "bleaching" of eggs is just a myth. Different types of chickens produce different color eggs. Its as simple as that. Bleaching used to be a thing they did but it was just for sanitation. It especially does not make sense in the US because brown eggs here are often more expensive. No farmer is going to do something to their product that actively reduces the price. At least not here in America.

I’m in the US and I only buy brown eggs. I’m not sure I can tell the difference, but psychologically they taste better! Also thanks for the fun egg facts. 😊

Can confirm that while the water we use to wash them to clean them might be chlorinated, so is normal tap water, to prevent water-borne diseases like cholera and dysentery. Yours is too. It isn't enough to bleach eggs, and doing so would likely damage them and weaken their structural integrity and thus cost them more money. Brown eggs and white eggs aren't nutritionally different at all, but the places that feed the chickens a specialty diet or do cage free or free-range tend to also choose breeds that happen to lay brown eggs because people think the eggs look more "natural" when eggs are eggs. Really the rule of thumb is if they have been pre-washed, you refrigerate them and usually rinse before use. If they haven't, you can keep them on the counter, and I don't know if you all rinse your eggs before use. You don't refrigerate unwashed eggs, and you don't leave washed eggs on the counter.

This! But I will say in general the uk and Ireland has sticker laws about produce and poultry and don’t allow five billion preservatives to be shoved into their poultry like in America so it will taste fresher, not to mention it’s greener over their so the animals eat fresher too! Like I don’t even think in uk they do crazy stuff like keeping animals meant to be food in a small caged area like a factory farm as we do in America 90% if not 100% of their animal product is produced cage free by nature/culture And if I am wrong and they do still cage them I know they still regulate how their treated o it’s more like the way one would cage pet farm animals. As opposed to Americas practices which are just…💀

the only thing different is the eggs are cleaned so they have to be refrigerated. You can get brown eggs in the US.

Because we don't use antibiotics in chickens the eggs are washed. That washing makes them vulnerable to contamination thus they require refrigeration. As for color, different chicken breeds have differently colored eggs.

Their was actually a pale pink, a very light blue and even a sage green color I wondered if the person had dyed them to look that way it could be possible. I can get both white and brown eggs at my store but usually end up buying white as they are cheaper but I prefer the brown ones they do taste better. I also prefer the washed eggs as I don’t trust leaving eggs out on the counter.

You could make bread coasters and toast coasters so it could be toast or a sandwich. Or what about like eight slices of pizza that come together to make a whole pizza. Maybe they could have different toppings which would look weird when the pizza is together maybe but each piece would be unique

as someone said below we don't bleach, but here is what we do with our eggs, The U.S. Department of Agriculture requires producers to wash eggs with warm water at least 20 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than the internal temperature of the eggs ― at a minimum of 90 degrees. That process cleans the shell, but also removes the exterior cuticle, “which is a natural barrier to bacteria and spoilage," i'm sorry for the Fahrenheit , do to large production of chickens and eggs here ,we are feeding them cheap grain ― a lot of corn, so from what i know our eggs are not that healthy at least store bought , which is why some people here have started raising their own chickens since you can have them as pets here depending on where you live. i personally love when you guys show a bit of that side the pond , i can't travel the world yet but maybe someday... Much Love to ya.🐣🐔😄

Now I understand the egg misinformation post 😅 I live in California, we buy free range eggs and they look the same as yours 😁 different breeds of chicken do give different colored eggs sometimes but I think the diet/health of the chicken has a bigger impact because cheap eggs are not only white, but their shells are noticeably thinner.

Also Steph needs to make a purple horseshoe, blue moon, rainbow, and pot of gold to complete the cereal marshmallow set! I have been crocheting for 20 years and I am incredibly impressed at how she's just making all these different things with no pattern. Crochet isn't the best technique for making socks (especially if Steph has the super great fun sensory annoyances that are very common in autism), but maybe if Stephasocks becomes a crochet channel she can make some booties/slippers to keep her feet toasty in the chill weather you guys always seem to have!
