Thanks for the video. My wife bought two of these and after two weeks or so one of them fails to charge. Took it to a repair shop they said it likely “ingested” some water, and they refused to repair it saying they will likely break the screen. Now I know it can be done without breaking the screen. Looks like I need to find another repair shop with the right attitude and methods. Would do it myself (I even have the tiny screwdrivers), but my eyes are not what they used to be.

You're welcome. The screens are pretty difficult to remove and there is the chance of damaging or breaking it. Also a high chance of damaging some of the housing/frame around the screen when attempting to pry it off but yep its doable, just not too easy to do.

Can you, please, comment on the repairment score? The phone is not good for repairment?
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it!
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
The screen is glued onto the frame extremely strong, so prying off the screen takes a really long time and also damages the rubber around the screen. Once the screen is off, it isn't too difficult to replace other parts but again if you have a working screen and need something else fixed, prying the screen off can pose a high chance of damaging the screen. However the phone is very strong so chances are, you won't be needing repairs anytime soon.

@@PBKreviews thank you for the detailed answer. Now I got the point. And one more question if you please. Are batteries connected in parallel or in orders (or how it is called, sorry)?

Greetings I was walking with my Doogee S89Pro phone in my hand when I tripped and fell down hitting the front on the floor. It still works fine, however, the back camera lens(?) suffered some damage as when I 'open' it to take pictures, only vertical lines appear moving in upward motion and very close. The night and infrared lenses appear to be working ok. 1-Can the lens be changed by itself,or the 3 lenses must be changed? 2-Cen I, as an amateur, make the changes? 3-Where can I get the lens? Amazon, e-Bay? Thanks Fernando Burgos
@PBKreviews Жыл бұрын
The camera can individually be changed, but you would need to take apart the phone which isn't the easiest for an amateur. Also for parts, you can contact doogee and request it from them. You can also ask if they do repairs.

Hi PBK, could you do a video where you rank phones based on repairability? It would be great to see you compare different designs (e.g. "Top 3 Most Repairable Phone in 2022 Q1-Q3")
@MegaDman42 Жыл бұрын
Are you sure that's the wireless charging coil? I can't find anything saying it has wireless wireless charging. Also, where exactly is the NFC antenna? I can't seem to get it to use the NFC unless it's for payment. Any idea on how to get that working? Also, mine didn't come with that extra case thing, sadly. I wish it did, I was going to design mounts for the car based on it.

Hi, thanks for that great video! I got a Doogee S97, presumably with a damaged fibgerprint sensor. Would I be right to assume the structure is similar to this phone you showed, as I also got the plates covering the sides and they generally look quite similar?

As this phone is on my list or possibles I found it interesting. Would you be willing to share an opinion of the quality of parts and assembly, compared with other Chinese brands? Many thanks from London, UK
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
I think the quality compared to other ones was pretty good. Taking the screen off was pretty difficult since its strongly adhered to the frame but aside from that everything else is easier to get to and organized fairly well. Its a very solid and strong phone so chance of needing repairs should be small. It is on the heavy side though.

The question is a little off topic, my friend, please tell me in the video analysis of the Poco F4 5G, there was a thermal pad on the cooling next to the thermal paste, and there are no thermal pads on other phones (for example, even in this smartphone in the video), that's the question: this thermal pad affects Poco's heat dissipation F4 5G and in which direction, for the better or vice versa for the worse and without a thermal pad it would be better and the smartphone would cool better ???
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
There is always either a thermal pad or thermal paste. Both do the same thing and transfer heat and it would of course be better to have it. Now if you are asking which is better, thermal pad or paste, I am not 100% sure, but I feel the thermal pad has a more even overall surface coverage but thermal paste might have better heat transfer characteristics based off what type of thermal paste it is.
@MaxStil892 жыл бұрын
@@PBKreviews That is, this thermal pad does not damage the phone?
@somayough2 жыл бұрын
@@MaxStil89 both thermal transfer solutions are used in computer parts, especially graphics cards. Thermal paste is usually used when the chip and the cooler/heat sink are in direct contact with one another, so that there are no air gaps between the two. Thermal pads are used when there is a few millimeters gap between the components , and you need material that can connect them and help transfer heat. In this phone, I think they went with thermal paste because the gap between the chips and the copper film was small enough that thermal paste was enough to fill that space.

hi, does the phone retain moisture protection after disassembly?

For this phone, in most cases no, but you can use a B-7000 glue or something similar to re adhere the screen to try n keep the water resistance.
