My experience with the replacement is that it's not worth the effort. You'll never do it right and will have to buy a new phone anyhow.

Nooo, Mickey! So sorry to hear this :( We are we work repairs of more than 10 years and according to the state also of the device and as it has been taken care of by its owner, there are phones that remains as new, but if it is true, we always have to evaluate if it is worthwhile to repair or buy one new.
