You must listen to this with something that can handle a little bit of bass. First listened to this with Apple Earpods and thought it was SO cool! Listened to it later that day on my laptop and it was missing so much of what made it so incredible. Of course, it was still quite impressive, but it was missing all of that tonality found in the bass.

@proudbanjoist9 жыл бұрын
Ela Palkki Not really that hard but takes practice. The tipper (drum stick) is moved in fashion similar to shaking down a thermometer - if you've done that before.

Epic Drumming! But I get so irritated when a crowd starts clapping out-of-time to a solo, especially a drum solo. I know that an audience clapping along to a song is fun to be a part of, and lends a ton of great energy to a show, but playing on stage to that shit is fucking annoying. A crowd of people that spread out even with ideal acoustics winds up either speeding or slowing the tempo drastically, if not turning into a cacophony of random out-of-time beats, even if the crowd is universally able to keep a beat, which they almost never are. Really talented musicians are able to play through it just fine, (especially percussion guys,) but it still takes an effort of concentration and co-ordination which is usually automatic at that point. And for someone trying to appreciate the skill and nuance to a solo, hearing a hoard of normies clap tunelessly along and lose the beat in 15 seconds is so annoying. That's why you wind up seeing the band on stage raising up their hands and clapping too. They're desperately trying to keep the crown on-beat.
@mirandaandrea82154 жыл бұрын
WELL SAID!
@MrEmiosk2 жыл бұрын
You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. This drummer used the audience beat (clapping) at the end to empathise his own. Within irish bodhran jig culture there's the offbeat ryt2hm, where you empathise, lay down the beat on the 4 instead of the 1, in a 1 2 3 4 beat. Percussionists are almost never the ones to set the rhythm, but follows it.
