Yup, the Master Levels are such a shitshow, I'm starting to regret getting into them at all. Black Tower, Vespera, now this... There are some decent levels included too but nothing memorable really. Even the good ones are worse than the original campaign and some of them, like this one, really hit the rock bottom...

@@PR1V1LE6ED Just finished it (except for the secret level) but I did suffer through some of them. At least there was one fun and memorable level after all - the Blood Sea Keep. The final one was also decent. But I'm definitely not playing through the Master Levels ever again (unlike the main game).

There should be rules in map building (in regards to making necessary triggers for progression NOT too obscure!) which this one appears to flout. I must confess I did some of the same with Blood back in the day, most likely led astray by maps such as these! 😏

Man this level's not very fun. I love how large it is but its path to progression doesn't make any sense. I mean for one it hides a necessary trigger inside the fire place. Like huh?

I like figuring things for myself but this map got me looking shit up and I’m getting more triggered how stupid it is. Can’t game as much as I use to so wasting so much time trying to find the next trigger so obscure makes me think these “master levels” are just rejects

I had the same issue. When facing exit door, turn around, walk a few paces, open gray door on left, flip skull switch.

There should be a black arrow on the ground behind the red door pointing to where the switch is to move the wall

Holy shit. Just had to look up this video because that level really was terrible. Would have been impossible for me to know what to do without a guide. Think the developer tried way too hard to make it a tough puzzle than a fun shooting FPS level.

There’s a light flicking on the ground pointing to the door. Same as for the secret in the bedroom, but it’s on the roof instead. Anyway, I had fun.😅

Master levels are everything wrong with doom 2 but turned up to 11, that being too much puzzleplay nonsense and secret switches and keys and doors. What happened to shooting fucking demons?

God I hate this level. The master levels should be called the meme levels. They're all map building novelties, nothing fun to play.

Agreed. I enjoyed a couple of them, but this one here is a fat piece of shit. The earlier level 'Catwalk' isn't much more fun, but at least was intuitive in it's progression, and I was never confused on what I had to do in it. This stinker was the first level I had to resort to looking up a guide on the internet for, for the section here: 10:59 I'm starting to discover the only real aspect of you that they test is your patience, not your skill.

This was a sick puzzle map! I loved the monster in a titan’s house fantasy. Door on the fireplace was a classic! Hard but intuitive 😅
