Now that is some poetic gold right there. I love how you even referenced the names of the chapters, episodes, and names of the games. Photos Gate, Shores of Hell, Inferno, Thy Flesh Consumed, Hell on Earth (Doom II), Absolution (the working title for Doom 64). I don't think anyone could have made up a Doom poem as good as that was.

I just love what Mark did with expanding the ending dialogue for his mod. Basically making it tie in with the fan theory of Doom 4/2016 taking place after Doom 64 due to Doomguy deciding to stay in Hell. Boy, those demons fucked up when they entombed him. You entomb the Doomguy, you *WILL* die.

I know right? Mark did a pure wonderful job with his mod. Every time I play Doom 4, I always think after Doom 64 we go to Doom 4 instantly! And now I'm just waiting for Brutal Doom V21 to be released.

I've been watching videos of people having fun with Brutal Doom and Project Brutality... I don't have any of the classic Doom games. I've been thinking of getting into the Doom modding scene so I can join in on the brutal fun. That Doom 64 theory really is a fun one - the reboot actually being a sequel to an N64 exclusive. =P

Mark used this music for the battle against the Real Icon of Sin mod too, if you think that Doom 2 is the prequel of Doom 64 it makes sense that it sounds during the final boss giving the feel about "Doom 64 is coming!" Croteam did something similar during the final battle of Serious Sam 3 being the prequel of the First Encounter.

I am surprised that hell has not warped doomguy to the point of becoming a demon himself. Usually extended stays in hell will eventually cause you to turn into one and become as sadistic them. You even begin to morph into a demon.

I go with the theory that the haunting music for most of this game was meant as a representation of Doomguy's mental state. Everything was fun until he found his beloved Daisy's head on a stake. Then everything became darker, and more morbid, as if he truly realised the scope of the situation, leading to hell's far more sinister portrayal in this game. However at the end of this game, this triumphant music that is far more inline with the music of the previous installments finally kicks in. It perfectly symbolises Doomguy getting out of his rut and finally realising that he can do it. And thus, the mighty Doom Slayer is born.
