It's really weird how well they made the Fortress of Doom feel like this was home.
@Arthurit1s4 жыл бұрын
I love this games ambient tracks like the fortress!! A castle with a past, yet rebirthed with the Slayer's touches. The tones that make up the music constantly rising and sounding floaty is perfect for its atmosphere; since it makes the fortress feel mysterious, ancient, but also solemn, because of the events that happened during the game (Near-death of humanity, urdak's fall, the slayer now being exiled from sentinel-land). It reflects the Slayer himself and his lifestyle/history, a lone, sad man with an incredibly traumatizing life and generations-long story. Its not creepy, but it feels lonely and sad like the protagonist's constant internal conflict. Through the adversity of the classic games, 64, and the modern one's, the track encompasses the emotional turmoil of a man broken and battered by loss and hardship, yet revitalized by forces beyond his league, then put down once more, and forevermore. Mick, or whoever composed the ambient tracks, did a great job on making music to fit not only the combat sequences, but the silent, ambient tracks you'd never really think of much that really elevates the experience.

Infernous This track gives me a certain sense of peace, but I do personally find it *slightly* creepy as well. Maybe that's a deliberate underlying influence cuz it's made with Maykr technology? Or perhaps it's just the sense of knowing there's more dangers waiting for you on your next mission... I will try thinking of it as "sad and lonely" though, that's an interesting interpretation. All your other descriptions are accurate as well. Interesting thoughts.

Don't forget the *rage* , the endless undying hatred for all those who have wronged him, humanity for leaving him to die, the demons for killing his comrades and *ripping* him away from his home, the betrayal of the Sentinel Priests who sent him and his new comrades to the slaughter at the hands of the demons, and the Maykr's who *tore* out his humanity and allowed countless millions to suffer at the hands of the demon hordes for their own gain. The pain of his abandonment at the hands of so many, and the inevitable hatred that grew from it does show his resolve as Elron said, and more.

Imagine waking up, taking a walk around this fortress, having a cup of coffee, and this music playing in the background. You stand and watch the earth. What transcendental thoughts would cross one's mind? For me, it would be probably: "How cool would it be to pee aiming at the earth?"

@ender_slayer33 жыл бұрын
@@YourDeath311 Humanity is toxic to be sure, but with the proper steps it can be purified, what other species fictional or otherwise do you know of that has our level of ingenuity? Imagine it, an army of the most ingenious creatures in the known universe that know nothing but loyalty. "That would never happen" I can hear you say to yourself, you are correct, not without great care and a few generations of cleansing. Allow me to remind you of a book known as "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. The society that has been brought forth is one of simplicity and content, in the end the only thing that destroyed their society was trying to contain and forget their past, so instead change their view. Convince the masses that their ancestors were deceitful evil murderous creatures who were to foolish to realize their folly, but through your guidance they now live in the light of truth. Controlling they flow of information and how it is perceived is the key, look at George Orwell's 1984, where the main characters appointed purpose is to change the information he is presented with to allow better control of the masses, however in that case their past is all but erased, altered, or forgotten. Their population left in a stagnant pool of mindless perpetuity. If I had to pick a real world nation that did this (or close to this) with success it would have to be Sparta, the Laconians had the ideal society (in my opinion) and should be emulated.
