Doom Eternal - More Custom Levels [Nightmare][No HUD]

Every few months I feel like playing some doom eternal again, so here's 3 hours of modded master levels. There aren't many new mods these days as far as I'm aware, but there's quite a few I haven't played yet. I was also planning on doing all the official master levels in one go with the same restrictions as below, but I've just never got to it because the length makes it hard to find motivation for it, so maybe some day I'll do that. I think this if the first time I've recorded anything with ray tracing, and it looks amazing in certain levels/areas.

No chaingun shield, no BFG, no crucible/hammer, no HUD including no crosshair of any kind and no deaths.
All video settings on max with ray tracing enabled, fov = 115.

Definitely one level that looks a lot better with ray tracing, also a fun level.

This was my first playthrough of this mod and it was probably my favourite out of the ones I played here.
The fight below the gore nest was visually incredible, seeing the second baron approach me right as I was finishing the glory kill on the first baron by the reflection is something I've never experienced before.

Very cool visual change to the level. Felt like I was constantly trying to max out my ammo and health in the final fight, usually playing without the hud isn't a problem, but here I just didn't have any idea were I was health wise for the most of it. Overall nicely balanced difficulty wise, nothing that got too crazy at any point, but still interesting fights throughout it.

Yeah I skipped the cutscenes. Starts off easy and then gets a bit crazy towards the end. I played really slow at the final fight, this was the last part I did so I just wanted to survive.

No idea what was up with those final marauders, none of them wanted to attack. Felt like I played pretty badly here, but the level was ok.

Yeaahhh... that final arena fight of the Mars Core level was absolutely absurd. Master Level or not, there is such a thing as having the sense as a designer to know when a fight is going on for too long, and that fight absolutely went over that limit by at least 5 minutes.

@johnhodges5898 to my knowledge it's a result of going into the games files and modifying certain parameters for the level. For the visuals it could also be a shader but I'm not 100% sure.

@@johnhodges5898 skybox replacement (it's the blood swamps one), I changed a lot of lights in the level and tweaked the overall light parameters and visual properties of the level (the env decl). Also I added several light scattering/fogs in some areas. I wanted this modded level to feel like mine, that's why I noticed the argent energy tower similarity when I replayed D2016, that was unintentional but a very cool side effect.

Only thing I see around that time is a lot of rainbow colors and the vague outline of an enemy. Miss the time where you had clearly defined enemies, rooms and weapons. And could retreat around a corner for an ambush of dozens of enemies. Maybe I should just stick to 90's Doom😂

Recently finished my first nightmare run of Eternal with the DLCs and used a lot of Zero Master's videos to try and improve my skills. After that seeing this video pop up and watching him play Eternal again, his skills are ridiculous. I'm in disbelief at how fast, accurate and efficient he is. The nightmare master levels aren't hard enough, so he has to find ways to handicap himself to make them sufficiently challenging.

Would be cool to have all 3 Tag1 master levels of the best DLC for Doom Eternal. Sadly TAG2 is not fixable because last BOSS should be reprogramed to have different abilities on later stages, it should be ultimate challenge of using everything you have learned through all Doom Eternal.

@@fuckso2342 The reason they don't is kind of simple from a developer's perspective. They didn't really organize the source code and tools during development, which means they'd have to untangle everything for a release of tools. In short, they hadn't planned for it because they didn't know people would even have ended up doing as much as they did.

What's wild watching this is you have finally broken past the boundaries of balance the devs intended. Most players rely heavily on the chain gun shield and ice bomb but you barely use them. What does the purple spirits do like what buffs do the demons get? Because I know blue removes weak points and buffs speed and damage I think I can't fully remember but I don't know about purple ones I believe there is red as well I think I've seen not in this video so far but in others so what do they do as well. The real reason why is because the game's development was not planned with it in mind, which leads to unorganized source code and developer tools that only they understand, with it being esoteric in nature. This is since it takes a lot of effort to organize those tools and their code during development and for the sake of releasing tools. Hugo Martin has said that this is the reason why in the past, and it is the reason why for most games too. They don't care about Hdoom impacting anything because that is just the way the internet goes.
