Playing this recently on the Xbox Series X collection was brutal. Doing it on Ultra Violence was so hard I had to turn it down to hurt me plenty just to make any progress. I've played Doom since it first came out and on the PS1 back in 95 so I've lost count of the amount of times I've played the game. But Legacy of Rust I'd say is even harder than Final Doom. Especially the Lost Soul things that shoot can be very annoying. And frankly the new flame weapon I found to be underwhelming. I'll take the BFG any day. Overall it's cool but was a little too much like work finishing it. Still I'll take it over all the DEI filled slop they make now. In fact it's the only new release I've played this whole year.

This makes me wonder how many game developers do something like this: creating official expansions to games decades after their release. I would imagine not many developers do this though I could be wrong. Makes me wonder though if the original vanilla Doom could provide some challenges for Mike (like No Death Run, Fist-Only run of the whole game etc.). I absolutely love Doom but man i'm really burnt out from playing all the available mods, dlc, and main games on my PS5 the last couple months. Meanwhile i'm also going through the entire sega collection which all i have left is Phantasy Star 2-4. I also got my handheld emulator going through everything classic rpg like Lufia and Lunar.
