One of the greatest mods for Doom ever made. Along with mods like Doom - Eternal Slayer, Embers of Armageddon, Slayer's Rampage, Zaion Doom and Brutal Doom. But ultimately, Brutal Doom is the one that kickstarted it all for real. Sure, there was mods before that but after Brutal Doom, mods started to become more insane.

I wouldn't credit Brutal Doom as kickstarting the golden age of modding, given Russian Overkill, Trailblazer, Demonsteele, Doom Roguelike Arsenal, Project MSX and a couple more notable mods all either came out around the same time or even predated it. Honestly, mods got insane *after* Zen Dynamics showed it was possible to have reloadable weapons with altfires all the way back in 2006.

God tier mod in my opinion, i also like a little fork called "BFG edition" which has some nice complements and QoL stuff

As for the lore behind the lightning gun is that it was a failed plasma gun prototype that ended up failing in such a unique way that the UAC decided to make it a new project altogether.

I know there are quite a few Doom 2016/Doom Eternal mods for GZDoom, but this is easily my favorite. Quake Champions: Doom Edition is also an awesome mod made by the same author (DBThanatos)

I love this mod but I wish I could turn off mutiplayer weapons spawning because I get so freaking overwhelmed.

Pretty sure all of the MP stuff doesn't spawn in SP anymore.

@@matteldrydge I'm using 2.5 and the MP guns still spawn and drop from enemies for me.

Would be better if there was option to carry either them or their counterparts from same slots. Like in CoD Doom mods, where you'll drop weapons that you can't or don't want to use, and picking their counterparts.

I don't see the point in bringing over CoD mechanics to a Doom 2016 mod, especially when 2 weapons per slot is perfectly adequate.

Its weird pain elemental can't bite in close combat as caco demon, only shoot lost souls
